Texas Supermarket Chain H-E-B Forsakes Christian Roots, Promotes Homosexual Agenda!

H-E-B Supermarkets, a Texas-based private chain which owns 304 stores, has decided to fund the homosexual agenda in San Antonio, their hometown, and in Austin.

On Saturday, June 17, 2006 – on Father's Day weekend no less – H-E-B sponsored the San Antonio Homosexual PrideFest event at HemisFair Park from 3-11 p.m.

H-E-B also had a parade float in the Austin Homosexual Parade this year on Saturday, June 3rd, 2006. There, in the midst of The Cockpit Club, Bound by Desire, The Texas Gay Rodeo Association, The Transgender Advocates of Central Texas, and The Central Texas Boys of Leather, is H-E-B Grocery Stores with a planned float #56, complete with employees dressed in the characteristic H-E-B red shirts.

Founded on solid Christian values back in 1905, Charles Butt, the CEO since 1971, has clearly taken the company in a different direction.

After San Antonio Christian radio talk show host Adam McManus on 630, KSLR ( http://www.takeastand.net/heb.asp ) exposed the H-E-B sponsorship of the homosexual agenda, hundreds of his listeners e-mailed and called H-E-B with their complaints. Plus, he's offering a downloadable petition exposing H-E-B.

In response, H-E-B defended and attempted to minimize their decision: "We received your e-mail regarding our participation and the participation of other corporations and banks in the upcoming Gay Pride Festival. H-E-B received a request for a small donation for the event; the request was reviewed and approved by our Regional Diversity Council. We realize that you are unhappy with us about this but we hope you will take into consideration that we contribute to over 5,000 non-profit groups of all kinds across the state of Texas annually."

Look at the story in the San Antonio Express-News:
http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/metro/stories/MYSA061706.03B.HEB_pridefest.12f4126.html

Since then, McManus has led three pickets at various San Antonio-area H-E-B Supermarkets and challenged his listeners to boycott H-E-B.

The homosexual activists, through their website "Equality Texas", sent out an alert statewide -- including a database of 25,000 names in San Antonio alone -- which they claim generated 2,800 e-mails of thanks to H-E-B for sponsoring the homosexual agenda.

Take Action

1. Please let Charles Butt of H-E-B Supermarkets know that you disagree with his decision to forsake his Christian roots and financially promote the homosexual agenda.

2. If you live in Texas, consider shopping for groceries elsewhere.

3. If you live in the San Antonio area, consider joining Christian radio talk show host Adam McManus on Friday, July 7th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for a peaceful picket in front of H-E-B's store on the Southside at 6818 South Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX 78224-1136. Both English and Spanish signs are already made. Just stop by with your whole family including children for at least 15-30 minutes.

If you think our efforts are worthy, would you please support us with a small gift? Thank you for caring enough to get involved.

Sincerely,

Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman

Excuse me Brother D but I need your advice. Since we are both avowed Christians I think it would be good if we walked in harmony on this issue. With that being said, please help me to understand why I/we should support the promotion of an agenda that furthers a lifestyle that caused God to destroy two cities (Sodom/ Gomorrah). Tnanks.

Maybe a little off topic ... but I used to work at H-E-B and I've met Mr. Butt. There were some rumors going around that he's a little on the fruity side, but I'm not in the know, so it's just hear say at this point.

I worked at HEB for several years and I heard the same thing. Mr. Butt is a nice man.

Props to HEB because they have always been on the cutting edge of the grocer industry.

I wish there was an HEB here in SoCal because the customer service absolutely sucks in most stores I have frequented. Texas friendly, baby!

The group is protesting the grocery chain's $300 support of Pridefest San Antonio, the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community's annual celebration of all things queer.

$300 bucks for a bunch of queers?!?!?! That's almost enough for an XBOX 360!!!!! WE MUST STAND TOGETHER TO PUT AN END TO SUCH HORRORS!

didn't H.E.Butt refuse to sell alcohol up until the 1960s, Baptist crusader or something his minister programmed him to do.

I thought christiansanity taught tolerance and understanding?
Throwing the word "faggot" around so liberally is really a proper display of that, without a doubt. And don't forget to bring the kids, so that they can be taught how to hate at an early age as well!
Oh, and how about those greedy bastards looking for a hand-out to help support their allegedly justifiable cause??!!?
What a bunch of complete fucking assholes.

But shit always manages to float to the top.
One thing I have found about people...The deeper into religion they get, the less tolerant they get towards anyone who doesn't agree with their philosophy.

Geez....do you suppose I'm going to hell for posting stuff like this?

People in SA don't know how good they have it with HEB with the huge selections and even whole stores that cater to health fanatics. Up North, or West, or East, try going to Wynn-Dixie, Kroger, Albertsons or Pemida. They all suck.
