Will Nadal make the quarterfinals of the US Open or the Australian Open?
It is a fair question since Nadal has only been to the quarterfinals once in a non clay court Grand Slam tournament.
Perhaps, it is possible that he very well might make it there.
Then he would have made it exactly two times to the quarterfinals of any nonclay court Grand Slam.
Certainly, he will have to do that more than twice in order to be considered the second best player in the world on non clay court surfaces.
Surely his play and his ability will come out in his record, but until it is manifest in his record (e.g. by making it more than one time to a non clay court Grand Slam) it is premature to award him the title of the second best player in the world on surfaces other than clay.
