mike james is meeting with avery tonight in vegas...wouldnt be surprised if he signed...which would open up a trade for kmart involving 6th man jerry stackhouse

I read it the same way. The Mavs trade expiring contract Stackhouse to Denver for K-Mart, then expect to sign Mike James to replace Stackhouse's loss.

They can have Kmart. In the words of the Rainman, "Kmart sucks!". Stack did more to beat the Spurs than Kmart will.
I hope Dallas successfully fvcks their roster this summer.

Did CIA Pop pay one of Cuban's strippers to convince him this is a good idea?

3-23 versus 21-20-10-8. Timmy is already quaking in his adidas.

Kmart's awful and I'd love to see him on the Mavs. Pull the trigger!

Mike James shoot teams out of games, is a TERRIBLE ballhog, and his teammates will not see the ball in the 4th quarter.
KMart has always been overrated. He has a very limited offensive game, and his physical defense could be neutralized easily by him picking up fouls. I do not recall Duncan ever having a problem with KMart, if memory serves me well, it was Camby that was the problem. Duncan beat KMart like a drum in the Nets series, which also happened to be the high point of KMart's career.

Mavs know they have no toughness. They're soft. So they went out and got one of the more shallowly tough guys in the league. K-Mart is fugayzee.
And Mike James is a ball-hog, as ambchang says. He can be coached, I guess.

The Mavs are still soft? A soft team knocked the Spurs out of the PO's???
Are you referring to Stack? Or are you saying they'll sign K-mart??
James shot 44% on 3's...ball-hog or not, he can help the Mavs and Avery can handle him...

Why do the mavs think this is a good idea?
The roster they have already was good enough to beat the spurs, so why do it?
For what? To counter Haslem? :lol
Theres a reason why denver doesnt want him anymore.

FWIW, I've heard ZERO discussion about K-Mart in the DFW area...
Chill out people...

Another player besides Stack would have to be involved..KMart makes too much money.

I'd do a Damp for Kmart trade....not Stack.

Interesting- Spurs are gearing up for Dallas small ball and then they would change and play K-Mart at PF and Dirk at SF. :lol I do think though that teams have gone out and gotten guys who they think will help in the middle like Phoenix tried to do last summer and Dallas thinks they need to win a championship.

Id hate for the Mavs to pick up K. I know you all hate him and think he sucks but if he gets healthy, then anything could happen.
K wouldnt make the mavs any worse, he would only improve them in certain areas. I want K gone to the east coz there is a risk that it may all finally come together for him and it would suck if that happened on the best team in the West

:lol :lmao stop with the overhyping on K-tard . He is a shitty halfcourt player, bloated contract, decent defender but nothing close of a Duncan or amare stopper, 3-23 game 6 of 03 finals might I add, etc etc. He would make the mavs much worse offensivley, capwise, and his knee is a concern as well. K-tard is a piece of shit who looked so great in the past due to having jason Kidd. I will laugh my ass of so much if the Mavs land K-tard

At least we overhyped him on a 2.5M contract rather then overpay him for over 11M and thinking hell be an all star :lol . If jason Kidd or Steve Nash were with k-mart, then hed be a badass but he has neither

Remember that in the first round of 2005, Duncan had just returned from an awful ankle injury, and never was quite himself in the playoffs.
In the 2003 Finals, Timmy had 32, 19, 21, 23, 29, and 21 points.
Now, also bear in mind that KMart's effectiveness came from being more athletic that most of the guys that he was matched up against. After the injuries, he will likely never have that advantage again.

Dallas wants to trade for Mr. 3-23? Way to step up in the most important game of your career, K-Mart. :lmao
Mike James is a guy who can help them immensely though. He was huge in the Pistons title run, and I think his loss was one of the main reasons they didn't repeat (that, and the fact that the 2005 Spurs were way better than the 2004 Lakers). He was very good for the Rockets in 2005 against Dallas too. I guess he wasn't enough to cover for Yao though.

KMart's effectiveness came from having JKidd spoon-feeding him lobs in transition.

The Mavericks cannot possibly be stupid enough to take KMart. Silly rumor.

Yeah no way the mavs take K Mart's contract for one. I'm sure they want Mike James though.

Think so? Don't forget, this is the same team that coined the phrases "It's hard to win when you're fighting an uphill battle at the free thrown line" and "ugly muddy thing they call a riverwalk."

nothing new.
And it has yet to win them a RING.

Possibly, but all you have to do is watch the '03 Finals where Martin gets completely taken out of his game, not by Duncan, but by Duncan's backup. The dude is a Klondike bar, and even the guy who signed Dennis Rodman and cost the Mavs a trip to the playoffs isn't stupid enough to pull the trigger on that deal. If he surprises me, I'll celebrate it, but I won't believe it until I see it.

There's an outside chance of the Timberwolves landing both James and Kenyon Martin.
It sounds like the Nuggets would definitely pull the trigger if the Wolves dangle Ricky Davis, who would fill the Nuggets greatest need at the two guard.
Being a Wolves fan, I'm not saying this would be a good thing.

I could believe that happening. However the ONLY good thing that would do for Wolves fans is give them someone to blame instead of KG when they don't make the playoffs again.

I heard this AM that the Wolves got Mike James. Apparently there are some icy relations between Mark "Lubin" Cuban and James's agent who also is Steve Nash's agent.

Yeah, there are. Cuban didn't like the way the agent handled the Nash negotiations. Basically, the Suns came in and paid a lot more than Cuban wanted to for Nash and Cuban needed to blame someone so he blamed the agent. :lol

Yeah, Martin would just be another piece to the Wolves puzzle that wouldn't fit. Where would they play him? At Center? Too undersized to play there. We could move KG to SF, but have enough players at that position already.
The way McHale is trying to build our roster with excess guards and forwards, I can't help but wonder if he's taking a page out of Isiah Thomas' book. :depressed
