Since the top5 players in his rookie class are gettin 70-80mill extentions, i dunno if his goin to get that type of money from the magic camp cose his not a starter and not posting 15ppg 9rpg 2.3bpg to get anywhere near that kind of money, but he will get paid above MLE for a big man.
The orlando magic dont wanna get stuck in a position like the suns or bulls when there players live up to their potentials signin them to max contracts = D12+NELSON+DARKO.
should we pry him away from the magic camp?? could be the center we are lookin for if we can get into a deal with the magic.

If he could rebound he'd be a Drob clone (in terms of athleticism and skillset).
I don't think the Spurs could acquire him with the pieces and salary situation they have for the next few years, though.

Just because Orlando got him for pennies on the dollar doesn't mean they mean to sell him for that much.

I think I asked about him in another thread. If possible, I wouldn't mind taking a stab at him.

Darko is damaged goods. Rotting on the Detroit bench nearly killed the kid, and he has said as much. some 12th guy type players have seen more playing time than Darko. Huge Risk to take on such a big project like him at this point.

Gosh, the Magic are not going to trade him, let him go or anything. They already exercised the option and I'm sure they will lock him up for some money but he wont command the max when he becomes an UFA.
They have stated numerous times they are going to build the team around him and Dwight Howard down low.

Ah, no.
He played the last 30 games or so for Orlando and looked decidely good - he showed scoring touch and blocked a lot of shots. He will start this year next to Howard. He's not damaged goods at all, hell, he's what, 21?
I'd love to grab him but they won't let him go.
I think they like their chances with a starting 5 of Darko/Howard/Turkoglu/?/Nelson.
They should make the playoffs if their bench produces anything and they don't get slapped around by injury.

I might be a secondary spurs fan if they can get Darko. Unfortunately that won't happen so I will continue to hate the spurs. :lol

He JUST turned 21 a couple of weeks ago, and he blocked almost 2.1 shots per game in Orlando in 20 minutes. If he could rebound better, every team in the league would be after him.
He's not Skita. His lack of production appears to be due to lack of PT.

Darko would be a nice pickup but magic seem pretty clear that they want to keep him

1. We draft him ahead of Wade, Carmelo and Bosh.
2. For 3 years we hardly ever play him because we wouldn't want to lose a few games in order to help our young players develope.
3. We trade him for what will probably be a 14- 18 first round draft pick next year.
4. One of the main reasons for trading him was to free up salary to re-sign Ben which we didn't do.
5. The Spurs sign him and he turns out to be a 20/10 player.
^^^That would be more than I could bear. :lol

Ok, but seriously... :lol
He wouldn't be bad, actually. I like his game (from what little I've seen). If you can get him for under 5 mill a year I would say he's well worth the risk/reward. He has the potential to be a replacement for Tim one day...and at worse he's a 7 footer off the bench who can hit a jumpshot.

Guys, I dont know how to break it to you, but the Magic are not going to trade him unless they get blown away on an offer. And on the open market, he's going to command somewhere between $8-$10 million.
The Magic are planning to build the team around him and DH.

Darko is an excellent shot blocker, and the Magic aren't trading him.
