The 'Stros just picked up OF/3B Aubrey Huff and some cash from the Devil Rays for a couple of minor leaguers.

They also sent Jason Lane to AAA Round Rock

Huff is well-suited for the short fence in right. Nice bat and he should be a good RBI man for the Astros.

huff is also a big time second half performer.

great move for the astros in ripping off tampa.

Garner and the Astros know that losing 1-0 can't keep happening if they want to go back to the World Series. They need to add another bat though.

It's about time they chunked him and his .205 hitting sorry ass back down.

His K in the 9th inning Sun nite was the last straw.

Awesome. Aubrey Huff is a nice player, plus he was starting to go off. He always goes off in the 2nd half of seasons anyways.

Great move by the 'Stros.

Hopefully the Cardinals can get the Andrew Jones Renteria trade pulled off, thats being talked about on Home Plate on XM Radio right now.

Or the other rumored Alfonso Soriano trade.

i havent heard about this andrew jones, renteria trade, whats going on with that.

soriano is going to be moved now after the nationals picked up kearns.

its really just a matter of who can give them most to washington.

I was a huge fan of Soriano when he was a Yankee.

MLB Home Plate had a guy from MLB.com and said hes hearing this from writers in Atlanta.

Im skeptical till it happens.

Now Tim Kurkjian is saying the Cardinals are working on something "big".

So we will see.

Cardinals according to Steve Phillips on ESPN are also going for Alfonso Soriano.

Rumors in Chicago also of the Cardinals trying to get Todd Walker.

If the Cardinals can pull off the Jones or Soriano trade, they become the NLCS chamions.

The gauntlet on the team would be insane if they got Andruw Jones and Renteria.

The defense would also be insane.

Im praying it happens.

The Cards without him would be... well... the Astros.

so they would have made the world series last year?

Tell me honestly you think the strobes were a better team than the Cards last year.

Tell me you think George Mason was one of the top 4 teams in the NCAA last year?

It isn't always who is the best, but who is playing the best at the end of the season. Houston was playing better ball at the end of the season, yet the Cards were clearly a better team.

The Cardinals in the top of the 9th innings in 3 and 4 had chances to tie and take the lead.

Cardinals would've more than likely been swept by the Sox too.

Maybe won 1 game.

the stros won the series. you sound like every other spur fan around here after we lost to the mavs. the card had a much better hitting lineup, but the stros had better pitching.

In the reg season the Cards were 11-5 against the strobes. Houston won the playoff series 4-2, that makes 13-9 for the year. The Cards were better, beat them all year long, but Houston was better at the end of the year and won when it mattered. End of story.

I'm just glad I can still say Houston has never won a World Series game.

not glad they made this move, this dude is sucking ass and missed an easy play on a great throw from luke scott just then. i'm about to stick a fork in the stros, they are gutless and playing like scrubs. :depressed

leemajors

they can still put something together to get the wild card, but it will ve very tough. not enough patsies left on the schedule, plenty of games vs the reds. very tough, but who would have thought would have done it the last 2 years? berkman is a fucking stud.

MoSpur

They need to make a serious move. The pitching is there. Its just hard as a pitcher to go out to the mound game after game knowing that your offense isn't likely going to produce one run.

How much longer is Ensberg on the DL? Not that he was doing all that much when he was in the lineup.

he was placed on the 15 day DL, but richard justice has said he may not play again this season. we're missing his glove on the corner, but neither he or huff has been hitting well. huff seems to be hitting right at people, but i guess it's good he has been making contact at least? ensberg seemed to strike out looking a lot, like he was trying to walk.

I don't think AP is as solid pitching wise as you guys think.

5 innings 11 hits?

Yikes.

Thanks for beating Cinncy, 5 anda half up, and hopefully pulling away.

Hope the Cardinals can pull off the deals for Cormier and Carlos Lee that are rumored by Tim Kirkjian yesterday on the radio,
