I believe this is the first time such an idea has been brought up on this forum. Congrats for your fresh and original thought.

Tit for tat. The Spurs allowed Stern to ruin their chances against Dallas for ratings, Stern gives them a pumped-up chance at Oden if they tank the season.

its a pattern.
robinson was drafted in 1987.
duncan was drafted in 1997.
oden will be in 2007.

It might be the only explanation for this unbelieveably shitty offseason. :lol

pretty much obvious, if i was duncan, cancel that player option :D and go to orlando

We'd have to lose Duncan, Gino, Parker + Bowen to even be that bad ...

*knocks on wood*

If duncan plays only 25 games next season i'd be convinced that they are tanking next season

You never know. I COULD happen again.
Duncan tears a muscle, Parker breaks something while driving towards the basket and Manu could be in and out of the line-up by continuously twisting his ankle.

I thought the Spurs were clearing cap space to make him a max free agent offer after three years.

trade tp/gino in that big 8 team trade for draft picks and expirin contracts, get duncan to cancel player option, tank season, then we have a few first round picks + 40-50mill cap space, pick oden, resign duncan, tell garnett hey man cancel player option and sign with us cheap, refill spots....

And all you have to do is hope the ping pong balls fall. Rick Pitino did that once...

I like how it says Report: Spurs are.... Instead of Opinion: Spurs are...

This is so obvious and tha spurs fans were thinking the spurs are having a bad offseason :rolleyes

IMO Manu will have an season injury. Timmy will be suspended day after day because of the dress code. Bowen will retire for a season...

The only reason this thread is still open is I'm too drunk to trust my own judgement.

My gut tells me Oden stays another year. That'll be hilarious.

Walker and Mayo may sue for entry into the '07 draft based on being a year older than most graduating seniors. That would make the '07 draft, strngth-wise similar to the '03 draft.

I didn't know about Mayo. The draft is extremely deep so far.

Even if we do tank, that will put us with the 20th pick in the first round at worst.

hopefully Spurs wont be able to get him.

i can already picture myself on the wrong end of a couple. not fun

Since it's supposed to be a very deep draft, especially with the backlog of delayed high schoolers, there's no real need to tank the whole season. Just get some earlier first round picks through trade, like the bulls did from the knicks.

The problem is only New York was stupid enough to give away a draft pick in the 2007 draft. Oh, and stupid Atlanta. There aren't any more criminally retarded teams to steal picks from.
