Does anyone know a good place to get brake work done excluding Brake Check?
How about tires? I've been looking at Tirerack.com.

Tires go to Walmart -- good tires, inexpensive and fast.

Thanks Kori. I will need brakes sooner though. I'm starting to really go through shoes everytime I have to stop at a red light.

Why don't you just replace the shoes yourself? It is not that hard to do and the only "special" piece of equipment you need is a deep-throat "C" clamp to depress the plungers.

Is that a pick up line?

But really, I think I need more than just pads. It's a pretty new truck, but I also need new tires and maybe an alignment.

I think you should take it to one of those places that sells tires and does brake jobs.

Avoid Just Brakes like the plague. Those mutherfuckers business model is based on ripping people off.

Uh ok. So I should just go through the phone book and cross out any names listed here? Are there any places that anyone has actually been to and liked? :lol I would go back to Sparks but they don't do brakes.

If you want a true experience, go to Blue Ribbon Tire Co on West Ave. just north of 410. I think the building has been there since before the city expanded out of the 410 area. They won't have a big selection. The prices are ok, but not great. They will work fast and it's fun to chat with the owner. I go there all the time to get flat tires patched. I never had so many flat tires until I moved down here.

Will a guy in an alley way say, "Pssst come here." Then open up his coat and have tires hanging from the lining?

Does anybody know a place that will fix the brakes for free so my dumb father will get it done??? :rolleyes Seriously, the brakes sound like they are about to fall out of the car but he still won't take care of it.

I tried driving 2 days ago. Steering is hard so is adjusting the speed. Driving is like a video game if you lose you die so it adds a element of suspense to it.
