View Full Version : When did we become such cheaters?

I've been watching a couple of the women's softball games and the US is getting the benefit of bullshit call after bullshit call. These aren't judgment calls, these are blatant, and they always go in the US team's favor. After the bullshit calls the US got in the WBC, I'm wondering at what point we decided that cheating is the way to win. I'm guessing about the time that we saw fit to send NBA players to the olympics and it still wasn't enough to secure the gold medal in basketball that our citizens feel somehow entitled to.

International competitions have always been fraught with corruption, and many people outside the US love an opportunity to stick it to the bad old Americans. We still need to be bigger than that IMO. I'd rather lose by cheating than win by cheating every time.

Nope. Until the BS calls it was better than baseball.
