Update:The Cavaliers are close to signing Wesley to a two-year,$3.6 million,
the Lorain Morning Journal reports.

Recommendation:Wesley, who returns 36 in November, could probably be an effective player if he's asked to play limited minutes off the bench. If they add Wesley, the Cavaliers, will probably try to move Damon Jones.

They need to keep Damon. Wesley is a good addition but Jones would be a bad subtraction.

Ive heard we are shopping Jones.....I hope we trade him.At least hope that if he does stay he keeps healthy. Then you won't have to look at his god awful suits on the sideline.

i don't think the cavs really need jones except in the clutch..but lebron is starting to shine in the clutch himself but it would give more options.

Wesley's a solid pick-up for the Cavs. He'll bring veteran leadership.

He's a decent combo guard with three-point range and can effectively play the point in short stints.

That said, I would have liked to see the Cavs add a younger point guard like Marcus Banks, who could have been groomed as Eric Snow's replacement at some point.

My gut tells me that Damon Jones will be back in Cleveland for at least another season. If he stays ineffective, he'll either be dealt at the trade deadline in February or next offseason.

According to a source very close to the Cavs front office said Damon Jones will be traded if they get a offer..That is what is holding up the signing of Wesley....

Rumor has it that Dumars is close to a sign-and-trade of Kelvin Cato for Jones.

He's a perfect Flip Saunders player.

wesley is a very streaky shooter who played with us forever. i dont really see the direction our team is going. if it wasnt for our two superstars, we'd get the first pick in the draft every single year.

???

He played just under two seasons in a Rocket uniform. How is that classified as forever?

David Wesley is an old, undersized shooting guard, and he has no defense. Let them have him.

Yep.

I still dont get why we signed Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones and trade for Flip Murrary when we have a defensive minded coach....

Rockets should be one of the top 2-3 teams in the west every year with TMac & Yao playing. It amazes me that they haven't been able to get a really good point guard to come there. If I were a point guard I'd love to play with those 2 guys. Although I think Van Gundy is a good coach, I don't think he's is a good fit there.
