Maceo Baston is eager to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv and join the NBA, but has still not received what he considers a satisfactory offer. In the past few days, Baston received an offer of a one-season contract worth $500,000. But the Texas-born forward is holding out for a two-year deal and for a much higher salary. If he does not receive an offer that is to his liking, he is expected to continue with Maccabi, where he earns $800,000 a season.

only thing i have seen on him in a while, if this has already been posted feel free to delete.

Perhaps the Spurs will think about him but it seems like they like what they see in Rich Melzer and Jamar Smith. However, if one of the centers gets matched, he could be someone the Spurs come looking at.

I wouldn't be stunned if SA was the team to send the $500,000 contract. They may try again if we lose Elson or Butler.

Naw, it wasn't the Spurs. How this summer has been going, the Spurs would have offered him a deal worth below the minimum.

But it's below what he's looking for. They excel at that.

So he wants a LLE deal, Im' not sure that a lot of teams are ready to give him that.

He's making $800,000/yr in a country that looks more unsettled by the day. He wants to play in the NBA. He'd probably take $1M.

He probably would take $800,001. Depends on number of years.

What's the book on this guy? He was much-heralded coming out of college, but it never panned out for him in the NBA.

Yeah, but at least he wouldn't be being shot at here, wouldn't have to sleep in a bomb shelter. Well...maybe.

Pache- exactly. Living in Israel can't feel too good nowadays, with freaks in power everywhere.

Maybe they offered him a deal but demanded that he pay them to play.

Got damn this is the third time you've said this and I've called BS each time. Either give a link or stop saying it.

If I had a choice of 30-year olds (Baston/Elson), I'd take the one I've never seen play.
