We had a big storm up here in Michigan a couple days ago. Our power went out so I didn't have much to do, so I tried taking some pictures and video of it. I decided I'd share the few that turned out, it's kind of hard to catch lightening with a digital camera lol.

This is the only picture that turned out

Now for video...

This video is kind of...boring for the first 45 seconds or so. But in the 33 second mark you can hear my dog stretch and breathe, isn't that exciting?

Not really sure if you guys care at all about this, but I thought the lightening looked pretty cool. But it sucks having the power out for a day. :madrun

Dude, that storm fucking rocked!!!! I was driving north to get back home and was treated to the coolest lightning show I have ever seen. I swear that I saw at least 1,000 bolts of lightning. I lost power as well, but I spent half the night driving around and just watching the streets overflow, cars stuck in the middle of a flash flood. It sucked when I tried to sleep with the humidity and all, and I thought the power coming back on as I am making my way out the door for work was kind of cruel, but I guess that is the price you pay for witnessing something so cool.

The storm was pretty sweet I must admit, I live out in the country so it was really cool to watch. I've never seen lightening like that, it went on for hours. We origionally weren't supposed to have our power back on until tomorrow at noon or midnight, but it came on last night, so we got lucky. But yeah I spent most of my night by my window watching it.

I live on the NW side of GR just off Lake Michigan Dr between Covell and Collindale, and the softball games that I went and watched took place all the way out by the airport, so the long drive home was awesome. One of my friends who was playing wanted to go out to dinner back around my house, and just as we where pulling in the dirveway of the restaraunt, the whole street went dark, but we must've been thinking ahead w/o even knowing it b/c the restaraunt had back up generators. It was pretty cool watching everyone try and go 45mph through a foot of standing water and then get out and wonder how water could short out the spark to their engine at the speed.

why want rain

This is why. Maybe you don't need it in NCal but we are getting pretty desperate. SA just went on Stage 1 rationing, up here in D/FW we're on Stage 3 and 4 (no watering, only soaker hoses for foundation) is probably just around the corner.
