I heart Ronnie Brewer. When his rookie contract is up, he's gonna hate SLC so much San Antonio will look cultured in comparison.
Welcome, Ronnie Brewer!
Bowen just needs to keep it together until then.

They haven't used him much.
He's only played in 22 minutes total in five games before today.

I know this is summer league, but those number are impressive. Usually people have less because I think the time of games is shorter then NBA regualtion correct? so 21 points is like a kobesque type game

He didn't have 21 points, it was a joke. He had 4 points at the half.

Everyone's hanging on Ian's statline every meaningless summer league game, I couldn't resist. And by the looks of it, at least two bought it hook, line, and sinker.

No one is hanging on it, just some are interested in his development. If you aren't, then oh well.

I definitely want to see him develop into a starter for the Spurs, just having some fun with fellow STers.

I think that skinny, really skinny long armed small forward from australia is the best hope for this team. Ian's numbers blow.

some media saw a great potential on Mahinmi only they say he needs to add some muscle(the same thing they say when Chris Bosh was drafted, but proved them wrong by contributing early with his team).

07-21-2006, 11:24 PM
you mean he's like Darko?
When Darko was first drafted he wasn't built to play the 5. As his body has matured, Darko has filled out and he truly is a Center now.
Ian doesn't quite have the height of Darko at this point, but he will probably fill out as he gets to be 21 or 22. He already looks bigger in the upper body since he was drafted.

Yeah but Bosh wasn't exactly the size of a pixie stick like Ian is.

Here are the starters (btw, Sergei Karaulov was DNP and had limited minutes for all games AFAIK)
PLAYER MIN FG FGA 3P 3PA FT FTA OR DR TOT A PF ST TO BS PTS
George F 19:34 2 3 0 0 2 2 2 0 2 0 4 1 2 0 6
Melzer F 30:07 2 9 1 3 4 5 0 4 4 3 1 2 2 1 9
Mahinmi C 26:20 3 7 0 0 4 4 3 5 8 0 6 1 1 0 10
Watson G 21:29 3 6 1 1 3 3 0 2 2 4 0 1 1 0 10
Sanders G 28:51 9 14 2 2 7 8 1 4 5 2 4 0 4 0 27
1. Sanders is looking like Manu again :D
2. Ian is putting up good stats again, but is fouling too much yet again. Did anyone watch the game? If the fouls occured when he was fighting for position, that's a good sign as it indicates that he's refusing to yield ground to heavier/stronger players.

Ian Mahinmi can dunk :clap
nice try. hope he'll make good in the World. I might be able to catch his game on TV here. He's incl. on the French team, if I'm not mistaken...
thanks for the updates guys...

What does everyone think of Sanders? does he have a shot at making the team? He didn't get much playing time last year maybe if the spurs move Barry then Melvin can get his shot at playing some real minutes.
