They made Duncan suck.

He's a 89 overall compared to 96 for Kobe!

WTF.

I prefer NBA 2K5 myself. Duncan has a better rating.

Realisticly, Kobe has no holes in his game (just his head), a la Duncan's FT%. That being said, it's a pretty big gap, probably bigger than it should be. My take would be Kobe 96, and Duncan maybe 92.

is td the highest ranked pf in the game, b/c if Brand, Webber, Big Ben, stoudamire, or sheed are ranked higher the games not worth it

From what I've read Garnett is 97...

I'm getting it on PC so I'll have constant roster updates

The game is crap to begin with. Very dissapointed. I specifically bought a PS2 for this game? Its all "balla", they put more time into the slam dunk contests than the actual gameplay. Graphics are 5 year old tech and why is it so easy to drive the lane but impossible to get open for a jumpshot? Anyone play both? Is 2K5 worth grabbing for $20?

Yes, it is.

Little tip, too. If you go to Best Buy, buy the "Gamer's Gift Card" and charge it up with about $16. Make sure you find the GGC with the $5 coupon on it for any game $19.99+ and you can just go through the line again and get NBA 2K5 for $15 plus tax.

What is better ? NBA Live or NBA 2K5 ???

and whys is it better than the other one ?

Live comes out about a month earlier than 2K5 in NZ.

Get 2K5.

Cheaper, they're putting more work into their product to offer a better and cheaper alternative to the same tired Live Gameplay.

Need you ask which is better? Any game that rates Duncan at an '89' should go to video game hell.

The Slam Dunk Contest is somewhat challenging, especially the alley-oops.

The Spurs don't translate well in these video games, because it's difficult to establish a post game and relay mostly on D in video games.

It's easier to run and gun with a team like the Mavs.

my question is should i spend 50 bucks on live 2005, 2o bucks on 2k5 or buy Live 2004 which i love because of the freestyle control, i have a really outdated 2k2 but any imput would be sweet, by the way ghost writer, you really like keeping your threads alive dont you, i know this one was burried pretty deep in the scrap heap

I'm starting to like it more now. I had live '03 before and was pretty good at it, there was a big learning curve. I've learved how to do stuff like dream shakes, fadeways, jabsteps, powerdribbles, pro-hops, crossovers, spins in the lane all in the context of gameplay. I could do that stuff one-on one but now its as basic as passing and it makes the game SO much better when you have that stuff under control and its second nature. I don't like the scouting aspect of it. Its very hard to scout with a short season. I love the rest of the GM part of it though. Its like virtual GM now.

2005 is alot of fun. The dunk contests are very difficult but fun as hell. It is only $40 by the way. I'd get this one for the online gameplay. Way more people play nba live than 2k5.

We could have some FSP tourneys :)

2005 is very good. Chuck it on Superstar, play around with the sliders and watch as you get the most realistic play and statistics in any basketball game.

Check out Operation Sports for any sliders that have been tested by many people for pretty much any sports game.
