I was stung by a bitch bee yesterday and it's super swollen, red, and itchy. I was aware of my slight allergy to them but it's never gotten this bad. I swear my forearm looks like fucking Popeye's, it's gross. I put Benadryl cream on it and I've taken a Benadryl. Is there anything else I could do?

Try rubbing baking soda and a small bit of water into a paste. Scoop it onto the sting (like spackle) and let it dry. No joke- it works like a charm. :)

Make sure you squash the bee. That way you'll at least get even.

Adoph's Meat Tenderizer IMMEDIATELY stopped the stinging on my daughter's stomach from a sea flea or something at Port Aransas. She was hurting so bad we were thinking about ruining our day at the coast in an emergency room somewhere. Adolf's to the rescue. Don't leave home without it.

The chewed tobacco works, as does the meat tenderizer ... or amputation! That'd be a hell of a story to tell your grandkids ... "Yah, I got this bee sting and instead of takin' the pain, I told em to lop it off!"
Ok, that was stupid.

Two ladies were playing golf, and as they walked to the second tee box a bee stung one of them. She shrugged it off and they continued to play, but as they neared the 9th hole it was really bothering the lady. Her playing partner suggested she have the course pro look at it when they made the turn.
At the clubhouse the lady with the bee sting approched the pro:
"A bee stung me on the course," the lady told the pro.
"Where did it sting you?" the pro questioned.
"Between the first and second hole," the lady answered.
"I think your stance is a little too wide," the pro responded.

Thank for the advice everyone.
It's actually gotten worse, the redness and swelling is moving down my arm. This calls for a doctor's visit.

If it's that bad - a visit to the doctor is the only smart decision.
But if you're not allergic to bee/wasp stings a very good trick is to put a fresh tomato on the sting (cut the tomato on half and press and hold it where the bee/wasp stung you). I don't know why but it stops the swelling and the pain just disappears. It's a bit messy but I guarantee it works.
Duff says...Take a wiz on it. This will only work if you photograph yourself in the mirror while while taking said wiz. :nutkick:

I have heard that a lemon will work, too, but I have no idea if it's true or not. I have only been stung twice in my life, once by putting my hand down on a yellow jacket in the clover and grass I was sitting in...and the other was when I was helping my cousin move one of those old-fashioned metal gliders on our grandmother's front porch. When I reached down to grab the scrolled metal on the back, there was a wasp in there. Both times, they put chewed up tobacco from a cigarrette on the sting; I remember the wasp sting being painful after that when I got in the shower, but nothing after that. I was probably 12 or 13 when that happened. I don't remember even being uncomfortable from the yellow jacket sting, but I was much younger (5 or 6), so I may have just blocked it out.
The tomato thing is good to know, though.
Do you have any suggestions for fire ant bites?

I've put alcohol or Benedryl gel on mosquito bites and that works pretty well ... a first aid spray or neosporin works on bites, too.
Any suggestions for those damn mosquito bites? They seem to be everywhere this summer! I don't know about how to get rid of the bites but I can tell you how to avoid being bit...Eat banannas! It really does work. I was bing eaten alive at Port A 2 weeks ago and a a local let me in on the little secret.

It's actually gotten worse, the redness and swelling is moving down my arm. This calls for a doctor's visit. When you develop an allergy to something the first exposure/allergic reaction is usually not as strong as subsequent reactions. It's very common for them to get worse each time you are exposed. It's a good thing you are going to the doctor. They will probably have you carry a bee sting kit (ANA Kit) with you just in case you ever get bit again. Because the next time the sting could cause anaphylactic shock.

Not true. I eat banana's almost everyday...and I still get mosquito bites! The worse part of mosquito bites are the little scabs it leaves on your skin after you've been itching that spot for like 3 days straight! :(

tea tree oil works wonders on most insect bites. after putting it on mosquito bites, they rarely itch much or swell at all.

Order a thousand bats, build some bat houses, and let them loose. That will take care of your mosquito problem.

at the grocery store or walgreens, cvs. organic grocery store. any number of places. it has a very strong smell, but it works. it's a natural anti-fungal antiseptic used by the aborigines for centuries.
