Vernon Davis (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2532619)
I hope he lives up to this type of contract, but I doubt it. Why is it 41 percent more than the 6 pick got last year. I thought my team was cheap now.

While the best tight ends in the NFC Jason Witten and Jeremy Shockey are getting chump change. Vernon is the real deal though but we'll see if he can stay healthy.

In about 2 years he will be the best TE in the League.

15 million guaranteed isn't that far off of last years #6 pick. The rest of the money is all incentives..................most unlikely to happen. (pro-bowl, superbowl, # td's etc)

When was the last time someone looked up to a 49er? :lmao

Vernon's first season will be half as productive as Gates first season, and Vernon even got to play college ball.

Gates has nobody to throw him the ball unless rivers turns out to be good, but every QB has a tough time his first year.

Got to watch him at minicamp and he's a better passer than Brees by far. We will just have to see if that translates come game day.

Good to know, but then, why do they call him the highest paid TE in the league if it's just incentives.
