My Dad was gone three hours today. He said the line went around the building and into the parking lot. Anyone else had that same problem? And are you going to get a flu shot?

With the shortage, only elderly or people susceptible should get it. It's not a necessity at all for those in good health.

Exactly. Its not necessary. I thought they were only giving them to high risk people anyway.

Yeah that is what they've been saying. I just can't believe the lines were like that.

What a bunch of little girls. Most people wanting the flu shot wouldnt want it except for the fact that there is a shortage and it is all over the media. I bet having a shortage drove up the demand more than anything else.

This is ridiculous.

You want to not get the flu - stay in shape, drink OJ and wash your freakin hands. I havent had the flu since 2nd grade, and I wont get it this year either.

If timvp wants to start a "will 2pac get the flu" vbookie event, I will put every dollar I have on no flu. Don't be an idiot and you will be fine. That same line of reasoning works in most fields in the world.

I've never had a flu shot. Don't see the need to get one. What I should be getting is allergy shots...

Flu shots are for girlie men.

last year was the first time I ever got one...and just because my sister came to the house and gave it to me...I am gonna take a pass this year...

the flu can't be that much worse than getting my ass kicked by the cedar...:lol

But getting a flu shot is sooooo cool! I mean everyone is doing it, right? I want to fit in too. :spin

If it was a choice between getting a shot and a horrible lingering death... hmm, I'd have to think that one over for a while.

My wife is diabetic, so all over the house we have needles and those nasty little things that you stick your finger with to get a blood sample...

Random but related thought... Christopher Reeve's widow is campaigning with Kerry and Edwards... she expect that Edward will do a resurrection miracle or something? :rolleyes

I've never gotten a flu shot and I don't plan on starting now.
For those who need it they should get it.

And I think she is supporting what her husband believed in.

My doctor makes me get a flu shot because I am on immunosuppressants (chemo) for my lupus. I waited for just under 2 hours at the Alamodome this morning. It really wasn't that bad though because the line kept moving and most of the wait was indoors.

Then I got to go out to BAMC and wait 2 hours at the pharmacy for some medications. Lastly I hopped in my little car and drove out to Wilford Hall for another appointment where I had to wait for 45 minutes. WAITING SUCKS

I'm sure you made the wait enjoyable..for the men at least. :)

i don't get flu shots. i hate getting sick, but once a year doesn't kill me....just chug the nyquil before bedtime and tough it out. flu shots won't prevent you from getting sick either, just speed up the recovery.

And drink plenty of OJ and don't wait till the full symptoms hit you.
Nip it in the bud.

I know lupus is not fun to cope with. Hope you are getting better.

Ironically, every time (twice) I've gotten a flu shot, I've gotten the flu within a week...

Hook Dem, Thanks. The meds keep it under pretty good control.

And, Joe.... Thank you for the compliment.

I'll put $100 up. Ain't no thing - even though I lost those vbucks on the Stros tonight. :(
