U ALL know the Spurs are not sexy in the eyes of the networks, and based on their TV performances last season, I would not want them on either.

ESPN has a habit of changing what games they broadcast if the match-up sucks. So don't consider it written in stone.

I'm surprised that Detroit has that many appearances. Many analysts always compared them and the Spurs, mainly because they were both more defensive-minded teams.

The networks are putting a lot of stock in some one-star teams. If Kobe or Lebron go out for any extended time with injuries, I don't know how many will tune in to their games. Same might be said for Dirk, Shaq and Wade. But I have to give them kudos though for giving the Bulls more face time.

Clearly the star power of Nazr has shifted the balance.

It's dirt simple. Nazr = ratings. He leaves so do the networks. That's why the Pistons are all over the TV this season. Stern knows what the fans want-rebounding and fumbled passes.

I don't know if you can argue too much based upon the teams who are getting more games. The only team I would have expected to be lower on the list is my Pistons... :depressed Without Ben Wallace I figured we'd fall quite a bit in terms of nationaly televised games.

Phoenix is somewhat of a surprise. They do not have a huge market and it is still in question whether Amare will return to form. If he does then yes, I think they should be that high. If not they should drop significantly. I guess they are betting that he will fully recover...

its probably just because their style of play is more exciting than most other teams, so networks give them more games

Seriously? All joking aside? I think that for the bottom line this can only be good. The more the Spurs can fly under the radar, nationally, I think the better. It just seems that this team has more success with slightly lower expectations.

National TV scheduling shows absolutely nothing about basketball talent. All it shows is what trash are the league and networks trying to shove down your throat. Lebron and Kobe playing one man basketball is what the league wants you to watch. That's because David Stern knows absolutely nothing about basketball and is trying to feed us this one on one star garbage. If I wanted that I'd just watch that Streetball trash on Espn.

I saw only a few games last year, 7-8 games in the regular season

But this year is better, 4 games for Latinamerica In Novembre and 3 in January

But last year in Southamerica we saw more than 10 games of the Bucks, only because the NBA want to show Andrew Bogut to Australia

Every week were Lebron or Bogut

ALVAREZ6

Last year, there were about 20 regular season Spurs games on national TV...of course 2 of them don't count because motherfucking ABC robs the east coast Spurs fans twice a year by showing another game like a bunch of inconsiderate asshole cocksuckers.

So when the list says 17 games, it's really 15 for me.

Actually, most of the bigger sportsbooks have the Mavs as the favorites, with Miami & San Antonio close behind. Regardless, all these teams are either 4-1 or 5-1 to win title for the most part.

I feel your pain dude. The wife and I are pricing digital cable packages for the new place here in Houston and we're seriously considering dropping the extra $$$ for that. I can understand Fox Sports showing Rockets games over the Spurs games, but it drives me up a damn wall what kind of shit they'll show instead of Spurs games when the Rockets aren't playing. Dallas Stars' games, and third rate poker tournaments! Bite the damn bullet and show the fucking Spurs! :madrun

And with my luck some of those nationally aired games will be Spurs vs. Rockets, which I would be able to watch locally anyways. GRRRRRRRR.

The NBA rules are responsible for that, since I think the blackout radius for the NBA markets is like 100 miles. Even when I lived in Waco I couldn't see the Spurs games on Fox Sports. That's why I know more about the Mavericks than the Mavericks fans do.

Unless you've done a 5 bolt conversion they won't fit. I really meant it as a joke, but my wife said that if I want to get league pass I'm going to have to generate some "soft money" for it. I'd like to enjoy the Spurs a couple of times while Timmy's still in his prime.

Tell me about 22 back to backs is absolutely insane. I'm really suprised about the amount of TV appearances. It's good though cause the Pistons always seem to "get up" for nationally-televised game. Then again who knows how effective we will be w/o Ben.

No, this year all the Pistons fans were saying that the team wouldn't wear down by the end of the year and that there was no reason to develop the bench or play fewer minutes for the starters. While the Pistons are at it they might consider putting Rasheed near the basket where he belongs.
