The San Antonio Spurs preseason schedule is jammed packed with games sure to create a buzz about the upcoming season. While fans are waiting for the new Spurs season to tip-off, they have an opportunity to buy tickets to see the Spurs in action during their 2006 preseason games.

The Spurs will open the 2006 preseason against the Adecco ASVELL Lyon-Villeurbanne on October 5 in Lyon, France. San Antonio is set to play their first of four preseason games at the AT&T Center on October 14 against the Orlando Magic. If that wasn't enough, the Spurs will take on the Miami Heat on October 21 and the Dallas Mavericks on October 27.

Tickets for the Spurs four 2006 preseason home games will go on sale to the public this Friday, August 4, at noon.

Preseason tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster Ticket Center locations including Foley's and select H-E-B locations, Charge by Phone at (210) 225-TEAM or online at ticketmaster.com or spurs.com.

You can also purchase tickets at the AT&T Center Box Office - regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. (on event days only).

All seven preseason games will be broadcast on WOAI (1200 AM). In addition, the Spurs' four home preseason games can be heard in Spanish on KCOR (1350 AM).

NEW YORK, Aug. 3, 2006 – The NBA’s 122-game preseason schedule for 2006, featuring games in 25 non-NBA cities, will tip off Oct. 5, with a doubleheader from NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™. The Philadelphia 76ers will travel to Barcelona, Spain to take on Winterthur FC Barcelona while the San Antonio Spurs will be in Lyon, France playing Adecco ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne. On Oct. 6 the Los Angeles Clippers will take on BC Khimki at Universal Sports Hall CSKA in Moscow and the Phoenix Suns will compete against Virtus Lottomatica Roma at the Palalottomatica in Rome.

As part of NBA Europe Live, Euroleague Champion CSKA Moscow will play an exhibition game against the Clippers at Universal Sport Hall CSKA in Moscow on Oct. 7 and Euroleague runner-up Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv will tip off against the Spurs at Paris-Bercy in Paris on Oct. 8. Both Euroleague teams will then travel to Cologne, Germany for a tournament at the Koln Arena. On Oct. 10, there will be a game between the 76ers and the Suns and a rematch between CSKA Moscow and Maccabi. The finale will feature matchups on Oct. 11 between the winners and the runners-up of each game.

National television coverage will feature a rematch of the Western Conference semifinals on Thursday, Oct. 27 on ESPN, as the defending Western Conference champion Dallas Mavericks visit the San Antonio Spurs at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Other preseason highlights will include: Andrea Bargnani, the first overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, and the Toronto Raptors opening the NBA’s North American preseason against Gilbert Arenas and the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 9; a rematch of the Eastern Conference Finals with Finals MVP Dwyane Wade and the 2006 NBA champion Miami Heat facing off against Chauncey Billups and the Detroit Pistons at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Oct. 10; and on Oct. 14 Eduardo Najera and his Denver Nuggets teammates will make an appearance in his native Mexico when they matchup against Baron Davis and the Golden State Warriors in Monterrey, Mexico.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors will host Israeli league champion Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv and Turkish powerhouse Efes Pilsen for four preseason games as an extension of the NBA’s international 2006 preseason schedule.

Efes Pilsen will play the Nuggets on Oct. 10 at the Pepsi Center before a matchup against the Warriors on Oct. 12 at The Arena in Oakland. Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv will play the Cavaliers on Oct. 17 at the Quicken Loans Arena, followed by a game against the Raptors on Oct. 19 at the Air Canada Centre. This will mark the first visit to the United States for Efes Pilsen and the second NBA-sanctioned visit for Maccabi.
