I know it's been out for a while, but have you read The Husband by Dean Koontz?

The whole time I was reading it I was thinking, "Damn, this should be a movie."

Anyway, they are making it a movie. I was just wondering what everyone else thought of the book. I thought it was awesome until the end. I'm not saying the conclusion wasn't good, but they wrapped it up too fast.

He borrowed it and didn't give it back.

Is that stealing?

wasn't he narc who helped him out really the po po stopping him for being a man of color running at night? and didn't he have to prove via DL hat he lived in the area and was not interested in burgalizing any of the nearby homes?

Just because he lives in the area it doesn't mean he's not interested in burglarizing the nearby homes.

back to the subject... ahem ahem... whats the husband about?

Wife kidnapped, husband implicated, kidnappers are serious heavy weights and have knowingly outrageous monetary demands to get her back.

Thats as far as I got. Its obvious the husband is being setup to fail.

Knowing Koontz, some sort of supernatural "something" will take place during the ensuing drama.

There's nothing supernatural in the book. That's why it's not Kootz-esque.

Okay, yesterday I read this book.

Not as smooth to read as The Husband because it jumps back and forth between several timelines, but the plot is very unique. Very good book.

kori, if you like mysteries at all charles todd writes great ones. quick reads, but very good and set in post world war I britian. i would explain more, but amazon would have a better explanation. i read all 7 or 8 of them in a couple weeks. good stuff.

Thanks. I'll look into Todd. I used to read a lot, but I got out of the habit and now I'm trying to get back into it. LJ has more work than me right now, so it's a good time for reading. I bought five books last week and I finished these two.

You must have missed the "What books have you read lately" thread. I had just finished it and really liked it a lot, and stated so in that thread. The ending was not too good, but it had me fom page 1.

DAMN YOU, KORI !!! I just dropped my daughter off at the church to go away for 4 days on a retreat out in Bandera and I have a ton of stuff I need to get done while she is gone. But now all I'm gonna do is go to the bookstore and get those 2 books you just mentioned and waste my time reading on the couch. You are a bad influence.:flipoff :lol
