Gino is trying hard (maybe to hard?), but nothing is going his way.
He made a lot of TO´s and missed shots.
I hope he will pick up his game in second half.
Spain made a lot of(open) shots for 3 points due a good moving w/o the ball and making extra passes.

Spain is CLEARLY superior to Argentina this time around. They play EASY basket, they dont force anything....they really showed CLASS and Argentina suffered.

Maybe US team can beat them? not sure. Spain remains to prove they can win under REAL WC pressure though.

Argentina is not screwed. Most of the players are just not motivated enough. They will be, after this defeat. Spain is not that great, if a inspired team attacks. Argentina has prepaired mostly on the defensive end.

Well they aren't impressing anyone with all of these blowout losses. I hope they don't get accustomed to getting their asses kicked around like this, and develop an excuse to play shitty.

This was posted on Manu's website by Tony CBA. Yeah I'm wondering what's going on with Argentina. I thought they'd be our biggest threat but they haven't been playing well at all along with Manu hasn't been playing great either (they're going to need him to play better). I'm kind of wondering if after the WC's if they don't do well if Manu's going to think about retiring from international competition. There was an article how this might be the last time they're all together and I know he's said recently it depends on how everything goes right now.

I may be wrong, but I dont think Spain has ever won a major sporting competition (footie WC, basketball, rugby, volleyball, maybe individual olympic sports??) in its history.

They always do well, qualify, proclaim themselves champs, then fall apart in elimination games. I expect no different this time around :)

Basically Manu saying that they haven't played well since they left Argentina, but they know they can play better and, while he doesn't expect them to be at their best against France in the opener, he expects them to get better during the tournament. He also says that they really need to work on defense and that will be their focus in the last 4 days of training.

Basically, the same situation before the olympics. I wish they can play at 80% the first game.

In this paragraph he is saying that D is key. "You can be sloppy on O but never on D. If you defend well, this will transalate into a good ofense".

I love Manu and all, but this excuse is getting really old. The tournament starts in 4 days and they haven't done shit so far. I really don't see this Argie squad coming along quick enough to go past the first round. Spain on the other hand is looking very impressive. We'll see if they pull their usual disappearing act or the manage to get somewhere for a change.

I attended the game - the atmosphere was quite drab due to the crappy announcer and the tame crowd.

Nevertheless, I was so excited to be getting my first sight of Manu, Oberto, Scola, and Pau Gasol that I didn't realise Argentina was getting drubbed by Spain.

The end score adequately reflected the state of matters.... Argentina seemed to be superior individually but had absolutely no team play - they ended up playing like the team usa's that were eliminated from the world championships.

Manu had a few nice moves, but didn't have much impact on the game. Scola took the game quite seriously and gave a few hard fouls after getting angry at losing by so much. However, he often seems to be out of position for rebounds which was critical as Spain was getting rebounds left and right. In my opinion, Nocioni was the one who made the least mistakes.
