After Tony's "fake" gold to Tim, Sean, Pop, Tony walked over and presented Manu's gold to Manu, to a standing ovation for Manu, very special moment.

same ol' same ol'

Tony will have more chance of a career in broadcasting than Pop or Tim, for sure. :)

Tony asked "who is Pop's favoirite player?" Somebody shouted "Malik" and Tony had a lot of fun with that. But Pop's favorite was Rasho, but I missed exactly why, somthing about "then next Kareem Abdul Jabbar."

But when Malik was intro'd, he got that loudest applause.

how do you feel now that you got earspanked in your wallet just for a lunch with overpaid basketball players?

1Parker1, see the titles on the pics.

Tony intro'd the Spurs, plus lots of stand-up-comique stuff. Previously having heard him spout nothing but the universal sports cliches when somebody sticks a mic in his face (Tim is the worst for that, which is why his recent "frickin" was so welcome), I was very surprised at how relaxed, unrushed, and original Tony was, he went on and on, walking around the platform like a pro, and got lotsa real laughs (not the polite laughs less funny people like Pop get).

FWDT, GinoFan:

A huge feature of this new board software is your personal "Ignore" poster. It only hides msgs from posters on your personal ignore list.

I wish it also hid entire threads started by posters on the ignore list.

Thanks boutons :) You were at table at seventy something? We were at 43. Wasn't that video they played at the beginning sweet?

Thanx boutons for posting the pix. This is great for us out-of-towners who do not really know much about things that happen around our favourite team outside the basketball court.

There is a php script (vBulletin is also a php script) called gallery that does what Photobucket.com does. Just thought I'd mention it if timvp has too much time on his hands and wants to add new feature to Spurstalk.com.

E20, the food was average "business hotel" fare (which is to say very good), but they of course didn't spend all my $100 on the food.

I get it there Holland Boy.

The Spurs have a luncheon, charge big dollars, smile and say hi, shake a few hands, have a few laughs.

But 75% of San Antonio does not participate because they are struggling to pay for gas just to get to work each day. I am all for open practices, Fan Fiestas and crap like that, but the high dollar NBA crap has got to go. Also, the ticket prices are outrageous for the entertainment you are getting..... A bunch of foreigners who can't hit jump shots. I would rather waste my money on Chucke Cheese.

Alamo, you don't understand, because you are in your own little internet Spurs homer world there in Holland. Your country doesn't have to provide security for anyone because your country and most of the ones that you associate with are a bunch of wusses. That's another topic for another forum. Anyways, don't you ever say that I don't get it Jazz fan.

the high dollar NBA crap has got to go.

Welcome to the real world Siqu.
Is it because you are so short that you fail to see the big picture?

I would rather waste my money on Chucke Cheese.

Isn't that what you already do every playoffs when you advertise your gametickets on the boards?

:rolleyes

hahahaha

what a bunch of crap Sequ......

Its called "capitalism" you should read about it, offer and demand, its pretty intresting, or move to another place, like Cuba.

Your concern with social innequality has to do with price tickets to NBA games? you could be the next Che Guevara. :drunk

The "high dollar crap" was a charity function -- not a party for average fans. They have a lot of events for average fans. This was to raise money for a charity organization.

Ticket prices start at $9.

Hmmm ... Let me look into it.

I didn't get the impression all or even most of the 800 luncheonites were high-rollers (glad-handing lawyers, corrupt policticians, corrupter local businessmen on the make).

The combination of seeing your local sports team and making a charitable contrib is an no-brainer attraction. The little old ladies sitting next to me drove in from Luling and Kingsville.

There was even a father in a Spurs warm-up jacket and his 10-year-old kid in a Duncan jersey. I wonder if he pulled him outta school?. I guess the kid was "sick".

( Sequ is an IGNOREd bitter, depressed old dog with his frontal lobes shriveling up by the day, he otta be put down to put US out of our misery. )
