I can't believe the Spurs would give away Samaki Walker's #55. I don't care if Samaki gave it up for #52 after one year. We're talking about Samaki Walker, playas.

He blocked 8 shots in a playoff game once. 8, bitches!

Neither of those numbers should ever be given out again!

The Spurs just completely dissed Shane Heal!

The fact that you just said "8, bitches!" should be marked down in some book, somewhere.

I still can't get over Oberto wearing JR Reid's #7. Blasphemy! :lol

Plus, if memory serves me right, that #11 was worn by Caldwell Jones for his one year in silver and black.

Might as well let someone wear 44... sigh. :lol

Caldwell Jones wore #27 as a Spur but Clifford Lett is still pouting I'm sure, about sharing #11 with a stranger.

Elson is wearing my favorite number and my number! Why does the worst acquisition in Spurs history have to wear 16!?

Elson is actually better than Felton Spencer, another Spur who wore #16. Time to get a new number, I guess.

I'm moderately surprised that Don Harris didn't go on air tonight complaining that the Spurs had given away #15, since Avery Johnson did wear that number at one point, too.

How short our memories are!! That guy won the Spurs a title!

Cherokee wore #18 in his cameos.

That is because you are too young to remember the drafting of Alfredrick Hughes. :)

They passed on some guy named Joe Dumars and some other guy named Terry Porter.

Quite interesting, they have given a number to Williams : maybe they want to use him and not trade/buyout him before the start of the training camp.

To be serious for a second, I wouldn't read too mcuh into assigning a number to Williams. That's the natural course of things as the summer winds down. I'd think the Spurs are still openly exploring trade possibilities and aren't committed to the notion that Williams will travel with the team to training camp.

I still think Parker should change his number to 19.

19, 20, 21.

Come on people, let's think sequentially here.

Or
Butler could be 13
Sanders could be 18
Williams could be19

The team could be almost completely sequential without any of the long term guys changing numbers.

I'm still ticked off every time I think about that one... Terry would have been the starting PG during Robinson's prime.
