FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Junior Robert Johnson is Arkansas' starting quarterback for the Sept. 2 opener against Southern California, Arkansas coach Houston Nutt said Wednesday night.
Johnson started the Razorbacks' first seven games last year, but was displaced the last four games by current sophomore Casey Dick.
Dick is still out with a back injury dating to last spring and won't be ready Sept. 2, Nutt said. Johnson wields an obvious experience edge over true freshman Mitch Mustain.
"We feel good at this time naming Robert Johnson our starting quarterback," Nutt said. "Robert has improved, and we know Casey Dick won't be ready. Mitch Mustain has done a lot of good things for a freshman but Robert Johnson is older and much better than he was a year ago."
