Cavs called close to a deal on big man Scot Pollard
By Brian Windhorst

The Cavaliers are close to signing free agent big man Scot Pollard, National Basketball Association sources say.
The team is waiting for some results of a physical before completing the deal, which is believed to be for one year.
Pollard, a 6-foot-11, 265-pounder, has a relationship with Cavs coach Mike Brown. The two spent two seasons together with the Indiana Pacers, where Pollard learned Brown's complex defensive system.
The nine-year veteran can play power forward and center and has been known as a hard-working defender and rebounder in his career.
Over the past several years, Pollard has been slowed by a series of back problems. He played in 45 games for the Pacers last season, 32 of them starts, and averaged 3.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 17 minutes per game.
The Cavs have been searching for a true backup for Zydrunas Ilgauskas at center. If the deal goes through, they would have one roster spot remaining.
Veteran guard David Wesley has been among those believed to be considered for that position.
