Why are people talking shit about my poll? Anyone who knows me, knows how big of a Whoopi Goldberg fan I am. Please this thread is for serious Sister Act discussion.

The end of the second one is top notch with the sisters and everyone dancing to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." In my humble opionion.

Finally!

I've been wondering where I can discuss the many facets of the Sister Act series. Such a wonderful pair of films should not be dismissed without first taking the time to properly appreciate them.

Where would Lauryn Hill be without Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit?

Who would have thought that an eyebrow free black woman with a Jewish last name could play a lounge singer/Catholic nun dating an Italian mob boss?

What would the world be like without Kathy Najimi?

I rewatched Sister Act 1 last night and it does have it's shining moments. As good as part 2 you ask, hardly, but it does have it's place in cinematic history. Where would Kathy Najimi be today without that movie?

To hell with Kathy Najimi, the original Sister Act made Harvey Keitel's career. Sister Act was in '92. The Piano, which got nominated for like a dozen Oscars, came a year later. Don't fool yourself into thinking this is a coincidence. His turn as Goldberg's abusive mobster boyfriend propelled him into the big time.

I bet my wife has. Seems like one of those stupid movies is on TBS every weekend, and she ends up watching it every time.

My guess is she'd vote for #1.

Sister Act 2 is a showcase for many young talents. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Lauryn Hill are both in this movie. What did Sister Act 1 have? Old broads that could barely carry a note.

It seems, with the exception of TOP CHERRY and batman that the men prefer Sister Act 1 and the women prefer Sister Act 2. That's rather interesting. If more people voted would my theory be proved right?

You might as well skip the first two minutes because it gets REALLY good at the 2 minute mark.
