Two San Antonio police officers are arrested and charged with stealing patio furniture.
On Friday, 26-year-old Carlos Salazar and 27-year-old Ildebrando Salazar, Jr. were both charged with theft, a Class-B misdemeanor. The two officers posted bail later in the day.
Investigators say the men stole the furniture from Sherlock's, a north side bar.
If convicted, they may have to pay a fine of up to $2,000, and spend 180 days in jail. The officers are two year veterans with SAPD, and are now on administrative leave pending an investigation.

Sherlocks?
Ive seen that furniture.
They did them a favor.
Good. I fuckin hate SAPD almost as much as I do San Marcos PD for arresting my friend for parking his car, turning it off, and sleeping in the back seat because he didn't want to drive home drunk. If they get a bad image in the media for something stupid like this this it's karma biting them in the ass.

Uh,
its a standard law that if as soon as you put the key in the ignition, that you have commited to driving and your driving drunk.
So do the "rail against the man" somewhere else.

If he was sleeping in the back seat, there is no way to prove that he had stuck the key in the ignition. SAPD are a bunch of crooked bullies.

I was at a house party last week standing on the front yard with some friends and strangers talking. Cops roll in trying to act hard, it was funny because for every thing they had to tell us we had a response that flawed their "power."
It was great seeing one of them turn red from being pissed off.

It is? I don't believe so... you have to be operating the vehicle to be DWI.
OK here's the down low on that story. Dude and me go to this party and it gets out at like 3am, I pass out at the host's house on the floor but Dude decides he wants to drive home. He gets like 4-5 blocks away from the party and pulls into Walmart and parks it, turns it off, hops into the back seat and crashes. Then around 5am he gets woken up by a pig banging on his door, and he gets jailed. I don't know what happened after that or how cops even found out, maybe Walmart security saw him and tipped em off. But it's pretty wack they arrest him for being safe when there's probably tons of other people in this town either drinking and driving for real.

So he did drive drunk.
As someone who lost a cousin to a drunk driver, your friend is a piece of shit.

Yeah he's a real asshole for going 5 blocks before realizing he probably would've hit someone if he continued and parking it to sleep it off. Cops have better things to do than arrest ppl who are playing it safe, and he was given a ticket for PI not DUI. Why don't they ticket someone who is actually in the act of driving under the influence?

You know what.... WalMart probably called and 'complained'... what is the officer suppose to do? They have options- most of the time depends on how the person (your friend in this situation) acts. Sometimes- they don't have options.
He needs to take some action- if not, the person who 'comlained' will call in and complain on that officer.
Again, not every gets caught.

I don't think that's true. Maybe I was lucky, but I passed out while I was stopped at a red light. I guess the cops happened to be passing by and noticed me. One cop wanted to arrest me, but his partner said "no", since I technically wasn't "driving the car", even though I was behind the wheel. One of the cops drove my car to the police substation, which was nearby, and my dad came to pick me up. That was back in 1994, so maybe things have changed since.

You seem to forget that you called somebody's friend a "piece of shit" earlier in this thread.
You seem to forget that you called people's daughters "whores" in another thread. Or it might have been "sluts", but I forget as I type this.
To address another part in this thread, most San Marcos officers will arrest (or ticket) for PI. I'm not going to proclaim to know every situation, so I won't blame the police, but when people are minding their own business and walking home so they won't be "pieces of shit," I think an officer might want to consider cutting them some slack.
Sure, assess the situation and if the person could cause harm to themselves or others, then take action, but for some officers to use their discretion on moving violations and other crimes, then be so by-the-book and place this person in the criminal justice system, it does call fairness into question.
And since I know you're going to say something along the lines that life isn't fair and people shouldn't be drunk in public if they want to not become part of the CJ system, then you can't sit there and say it's okay for law enforcement to let people go with warnings or other things on other offenses.
And for somebody who's lived in San Marcos and dealt with SMPD, Hays County Sheriffs, TABC and TxSt-UPD on a daily basis, most of those agencies are hard-asses with the students or student-age residents of SM. And when I say hard-asses, I mean that they're fairly strict about the interpretation of the laws and ordinances.
Pardon me for mistyping.

All I did was bring a discrepancy to your attention. If you simply mistyped something, why wouldn't you just say that instead of reacting obscenely?
For all I know you did mistype that or made an error. So what's the big deal?

As u know and have seen, it is the truth about my fiance, and stuff like this just gets under my goat a little extra than others.

TPark - you can be a dick yourself, as the Lachino pointed out. It was probably a tasteless remark, but hey, it's the club. If it weren't directed at you, you'd have laughed at it. You take shit here WAY too seriously, and dish out your quota of crap, too. My suggestions to you would be twofold:
1) If you don't want people to be a dick to you, don't be a dick to them. Enough of your cheap value judgments already. We know you love Rush. We just don't want to hear his show thru you and your posts.
2) Stop spilling your guts. I think even you would admit that you're somewhat of a figure of ridicule here at times, and that only gives people ammunition.
I'll buy you a beer at the next GTG at an establishment that serves alcohol, bro.
