First off the Spurs are a much better tean than they were last year, as far as clutch and depth go. Brent Barry was a good offseason move as well as getting rid of Turk and Ward. Barry might not have all the defense the spurs want in him, but getting Stephen Jackson this year wouldnt have done much better for them. The Spurs once again have the best bech in the league. Especially with shaq out of LA, sole possesion of the west has been handed over to San Antoinio. Minnesota has the best shot at the spurs, but they dont have the experience. Houston made a good move in getting Mc Grady, but remember who they had to give up to get him. 3 of their starters. Plus they dont have the experience when it comes to playoffs. What has Yao or Mutumbo or even mc grady ever done in the playoffs. Oh yeah, the spurs have more championship rings combined amongst players and coaches than any other team. That is priceless experience. you could probably find 10 -15 teams that combined dont have as many rings as the spurs players and coaches combined. So who will actually be able to compete with them?? When all is said and done, it should be Detroit or Miami vs. the spurs in the finals. Tell me one other team in the league that has at least 5 proven big shot hitters in the league. With the option of putting (Parker, Ginobili, Duncan, Horry, or Barry, amongst others) all of these guys on the floor at the same time to win the game has endless options. Oh yeah, dont forget about that guy named Brown. He should have his breakout season this year. And that reporter that said the spurs got older this season??? Yeah everyone in the league got a year older!
The Spurs dished off a guy that is 40 something and counting, been playing in 3 decades of basketball. And there are now at least 5 guys on the Spurs roster whose NBA experience combined doesnt even total that of Kevin Willis?
