As usual, sloppy work by the M$M, but the destruction in Beirut hardly needs embellishing by Reuters or anyone else. Reuters is part of the M$M so I find it rather ironic that a corporate news entity that has done everything but show the true destruction in Lebanon, would distribute so obviously fraudulent photos, unless their real intent is to sabotage the credibility of any news coming out of Lebanon. Then these pictures worked very effectively.

At least my jab held some merit... it is backed by every other "repugs this" or "repugs that" post that you constantly ooze.

You're insults don't hurt. They cause pity. :spin

Some of those were part of Hezbollah's not-so-sublte propaganda campaign, but I think a lot of it is just lazy, cynical photojournalists trying to capture that iconic, burned into your memory, Time/Life photo regardless of whether it's true or not. The most memorable photos are always unexpected and spontanous.

Well, don't cry for the "clone-stamp tool" guy in Lebanon who got canned from Reuters...apparently he now works for the Promotions department of CBS. :lol

Even at that you give them too much credit.

But, the destruction in Beirut WAS embellished and exaggerated.

One example is the airport. Numerous stories reported how the Beirut airport had been destroyed by Israeli bombs. If that were the case, why are all the buildings, including the control tower, still standing and how was a "destroyed" airport able to resume full operation the day after the cease-fire?

Israel claimed all along it was only targeting Hezbollah strongholds and militarily strategic targets. There's been no evidence to the contrary -- but, there's been a whole buttload of made up shit coming out of Lebanon.

So, do we have a count of the Hezbollah dead vs. Lebanese civilians yet?

Speaking of doctored photos..

Unbelievable catch by Brian Stelter at TVNewser, courtesy of an eagle-eyed tipster: CBS visibly altered Katie Couric's photo in its "Watch" Magazine, slenderizing her waist, arms and neck. Yowsers! TVNewser id's the first photo as Katie's official CBS photo, taken at the upfronts in May. Let's hear it for transparency and accuracy in the news! Paging Adnan Haj
