What is your bold prediction for this Spurs season? Step out on a limb and predict something that will happen to a player or the team in general.

We'll put this in the classics when everyone has made their prediction and then revisit it at the end of the season.

Tim Duncan has his career-best ppg average of 27.1 ppg and shoots 82% from the line for the year, and also wins 3rd MVP award in 4 years.

1) Tim and Manu voted to the All Star team. Tony gets a coaches bid.

3 Spurs on the team!!!

2) Spurs go 60-22 in the brutal West (Not bold, I know)

3) Devin averages more minutes than Bowen in the second half of the season, but doesn't start(Timvp ripoff)

4) Malik is once again under 6th man consideration

The Spurs will come out of the gates hot, then cool off by December. The rodeo trip will once again save them from sub .500. Duncan will be on the IR at least once along with Manu, due to the Olympic hangover. Tony will be "ok" They have enough still to win the division with a 54-28 record. They'll get tripped up in the second round of the playoffs.

- Manu or Tim will get hurt and miss some time. I certainly don't want it to happen, but the Spurs have been pretty lucky over the past few years and Manu and Tim have played a ton of basketball over the past two years. That catches up with you after a while.

- Marks will be the first big off the bench for a stretch during the middle or end of the season.

- The Spurs won't make a single trade during the season.

- 58 wins.

Barry averages career high 3pt-FG% :spin , but also averages a career low in minutes..... :depressed because of a nagging injury....

Beno is 4th in balloting for rookie of the year....

Malik is on the trading block once more during the season... but nothing materializes :elephant.

Manu nails the game winning field goal during the WC finals to secure berth into the 2005 NBA Finals.

TP averages career bests in PPG, APG, and FT% :spin

Duncan joins the All-Interview team..

Bowen 2nd in Balloting for DPOY

Both Manu and TP are coaches write ins to All-Star Game...

Spurs start out somewhere in the range of 10-10 in the first 20 games... people start calling for heads... Spurs finish with 60 wins.

LOL. I'd love to see Manu make a shot in .04 sec against LA in the playoffs. Talk about sweet revenge...

Spurs will finish sixth and face the division winners Rockets who will finish third, Rockets will surprise the Spurs knocking them out in the first round of the playoffs.

Marks surprises everyone and shows he's better than Rose. he'll be the 1st big off the bench and average 9.5pts, 6.4 rebs,1.8 blks, in 15 mins. 2nd on the team in Dunks made (2nd only to Duncan).

Tony Parker finishes among league leaders in three point percentage.

BronxCowboy
10-26-2004, 07:23 AM
Tim goes for 40 pts at least twice, and averages 25+ppg.

Rasho swats Yao Ming's shot 3 times in one game.

Bruce Bowen is accused of playing dirty by T-Mac and Carmelo Anthony. Gets a letter from the incarcerated Michael Jackson assuring him that there's no shame in playing dirty.

Manu goes for 30 at least twice. Has 6 or more double-doubles. Is top 5 in the league in steals. Sets a record for appearances on SportCenter for a Spur.

Pop collapses after a last second play by Manu. Keeps asking why he ever left the military.

Tony goes for 30 at least once, and has at least 2 15-assist performances (not on the same night that he goes for 30). Tony sets a new career high in single game assists and breaks it twice.

Malik has most points and rebounds off the bench. Devin is the second bench player in both categories.

Brent Barry hits at least 3 game winning shots. At least 3 regulars from this forum are calling for his head on silver platter by the end of the season anyway.

Beno finds his way to the IR at least twice during the regular season, but is in contention for all-rookie team anyway.

At the end of the season (see sig)

You beat me to it Genghis, damn you! I guess great minds think alike...

Pop realizes that Barry's ability to spread the floor for Tim makes him a better starter than Manu.

Manu plays more minutes than Barry but comes off the bench sometime during the season so Pop can maximize Brent's time on the floor with Tim. Manu becomes the go-to guy of the second unit and still closes out games while averaging 33 mpg.

Parker and Tim really start to gel as a tandem and become the best duo in the NBA, putting Yao and Tracy to shame.

BigVee
10-26-2004, 08:56 AM
Tim and KG throw down, with both landing punches, and are both suspended for 3 games.

-Tim's points will be around 20-22 ppg giving Manu and Tony more responsibility on the offensive end.

-Ginobili will have a great year. I say he goes 16pts 6reb 4assts 2.5stls per game. He will make the all-star team because of all of his SportsCenter hilights during the first half of the season.

-Tony will have a great year too. I say he goes 16pts 5assts per game.

-Rasho pops old man Divac's in the mouth. The Spurs/Lakers rivalry will be renewed.

Bold prediction: Spurs again face the Lakers in the playoffs. Spurs win this time, in 6 games. Spurs win NBA title.

Not so bold predictions: Stephen Jackson and Jamal Crawford replace Reggie Miller and Alan Houston, respectively, in their team's starting lineups.

Quite possible, but wouldn't mean a thing without #6. It's championship or bust from here on out.
