This will be a different story... Very different.
by Manu

Spain, tomorrow's rival in a semifinal, is a great team. They really know how to utilize their individual talents to help the team. It's also a very powerful offensive team, but they also give a lot of effort to have the best defenses in the Worlds Cup. They have a legitimate superstar in Paul Gasol bein 2.15 meters tall and very agile in the paint. But Spain also posseses quality players in all positions.

Us not being able to beat them ever makes us know that for Argentina, this is a very complicated rival, but we also beleive that its possible to beat them if we play at a very high level. When we met in the past, we were not the same team we are now, we were just starting the training and in the middle of a tiring trip; but them, they had already 5 games of training in their country. So tomorrow will be a different story... Let's hope very different. What has happened in the past with Spain can be useful but also damaging for us at the same time. Depends how we look at it.

About the keys to victory, among some, I think it will be very important to commit least errors as possible, because the spanish know how to take advantage of that. 3 or 4 mistakes could mean many points against us, hard to get back. We have to play an even better defense than agains Turkey, have a great and inspired night in offense as well as determination and aggresiveness, trying to be in the game until the last quarter, when then, it will get more complicated for them. We'll see how it turns out.

About Walter's signing with Charlotte, I am very happy for him and hope he enjoys this experience. When he asks us about this, us four, Fabricio, Chapu, Carlos and I, we tell him all he wants to know. It's not easy to adapt and that's why we will be there for him always.

Finally, I would like to note that I thinks its very important that we were able to reach for 3rd time in a row a semifinals in Worlds or Olympics. It is not easy to accomplish this... Actually, no other team was able to do this in this period and its something that our group values a lot. We know that many people take this for granted, logical, or natural but it is nothing easy and it demans so much work and effort to maintain in the top. Also we have to remember how much it would cost us to reach these instances years ago and we were never able to do it. We now hope to take a few more steps. Luckily yesterday we rested and we are all ok, 10 points, and with much hunger to win.

"It's not easy to adapt"

... is why I'm expecting a lot more from sophomore Fabricio.

But the same expectations didn't quite work out for Rasho's second year as a Spur. :(

yeah, If Argentina can keep it very close until the 4th, Spain will be in trouble.

Oberto will win it on a last second shot and finish with 18 points.
Gino will go for at least 25.

Hopefully Manu brings the same intensity and determination to the Spurs this year....after all, aren't they the ones that pay him the millions? Aside from bonehead fouls in the closing seconds of a championship series and disappearing against Ron Artest, I don't recall Ginobili performing too much magic this past playoffs. Tim Duncan pretty much played the Dallas series by himself (actually Finley was good now that I think of it). Maybe he needs to be wearing a plastic Visa sign across his chest and be travelling in a non-airconditioned bus to truly give a shit.

Sure... Without Manu Dallas would have beaten the Spurs in 5.- The dumb mistake of Manu was that fault in last game that send game to OT, but do you remember who gave the Spurs the edge?-

Well to be fair Duncan had a subpar Game 6, same with Parker. Ginobili had 30-10.

If Terry was playing the Spurs might have lost in Game 6 anyway.

Manu's mistake made us forget the embarassing 20 Point Deficit the Spurs had at the beginning.

Wbuysmeoff: You also must remember that Manu wasn't at the peak of his speed in the Sacramento series, but gradually he got better and better.

Many here don't understand that Manu is not primarly a scorer, he will score if you ask him to, but he's a team player and he brings much more things to his team than scoring. And it's easy to probe it, just see how the team plays when Manu is not on court or he's playing injured.

Walton's sad brain remembers only the last seconds of the game. When Manu actually carried the Spurs for most of that game 7.
