I watched that game. He took out all the starters in the 3rd Quarter, from what I recall.

He didn't run up the score as much as he challenged the second units. I don't think he did anything wrong. If he left his regulars in, they would have probably dropped a hundy on the hogs.

...that article is stupid. not only is the guy wrong about USC running up the score, he is wrong about Pete...period. USC was just that much better than ARK and on fire that night. btw, funny how b/c of one game Pete C. is the most arrogant coach in football....umm, no. Spurrier, and i love him, is much more so...not to mention Carroll does not have a track record of running up the score.

For starters, the biggest asshole head coach in the college ranks is that jackass Phil Fulmer, followed closely by that prick over in Lubbock, Mike Leach. Petey Carroll's up there, don't get me wrong, but it's moreso the mentality that comes from winning so freakin' much at a program that's easy to dislike like SC rather than just being a full-fledged douche like the other two.

As far as my predictions, Fulmer is an asshole, but one with a top five defense coming off a truly shitty year from an anemic offense. They scheme and swarm on D about as well as Tedford throws up offensive sets, which is a pretty big compliment. The Vols are one of the very, very few teams that can handle both Marshawn and four and five wide sets with minimal personnel changes. I only see Cal losing twice this regular season - to the Rocky Tops and the Trojans. Vols by 10 in a grinder.
