Will I see it in my lifetime?
When will we have a President who is a combination of Rep/Dem?

nah, the two-party system is so hermetically sealed and operated by the corps.
They will never let their cash cow be disrupted.

hell yeah, but you have to start with a big-time name as a third party/independent candidate.
I could have seen a bigname repub losing the primary but still fighting on and winning last election.

I could see it happening if either side tries to bring back the Draft.

Not happening on our life times, it is ingrained into the political system. Ideals may slowly change along with party names (i.e. Whig/North Democrats >> GOP or Democratic Republican >> Democrat) but it will remain the same two sided system, as it has ever since Washington left office.
George warned us. We didn't listen. It's part of the system now.

It will also take a reform of the electoral system.

Megalomaniac Aristocracy
and who said we are not a monarchy?
we are a two family monarchy(dem/rebs) that take turns ever 8-12 years.
They have you fooled; both families share the power; they don't trade. There is only one resident in the White-House, and his tenure is brief. Congress has the lifetime appointments - with 90% + reeleciton rates.
