And I don't want to hear "Wish You Were Here, The Wall, Money, Time, and Learning to Fly."

I'm interested in knowing what you like in regard to some of their lesser known works.

And here is mine, without further ado....

1. Mother
2.Hey You
3.Pigs on the Wing
4. See Emily Play
5. Have a Cigar

Not exactly rare tracks, but digging a little deeper than their top singles.

If you want my real top 5...

1. Shine on you crazy diamond
2. Wish You were here
3Comfortably Numb
4. The Wall
5. Mother

My personal faves:

1. On The Turning Away
2. Shine On You Crazy Diamond
3. The Dogs Of War
4. Us And Them
5. Run Like Hell

I get a lot of crap from a couple of my friends who are total PF nuts, but my absolute favorite PF album is A Momentary Lapse Of Reason.

I didn't read all of the instructions... If we're only talking about the non-"hits", I'd replace the last three with "Keep Talking," "Fearless," and "Wot's... Uh the Deal."

Oh, and I had the wrong song at #2... I was thinking of "Pigs (Three Different Ones)", not "Sheep". Both on the Animals album, and really, who listens to individual tracks on that album anyway?

2. Comfortably Numb
3. Comfortably Numb
4. Comfortably Numb
5. Comfortably Numb

Seriously, great song.

My absolute favorite lead riff in all of music. Everything about that song rocks.

Anyways, I'm agreeing with baseline's rankings...

Comfortably Numb is probably the only song I've listoned to more than 1000 times. Never gets old...

I have an import that I got, it's called "The Film"..instead of "The Wall" & it is basically the soundtrack, just like you would hear it watching the movie, but on a CD...awesome CD.

On another note, did anybody see Floyd when they came to SA on Easter Sunday 1994? The most incredible concert I will ever witness...not to mention that I got 8th row floor section C(to the left of the stage) for $35 from Ticketmaster..apparently my bud who got the tickets in Seguin, was one of the first people in line & was able to get 6 tickets for $35 each face value...he kept the tickets for like 2 months until the day of the concert & when everyone showed up, he was like "oh yeah, I forgot to tell ya'll, we are sitting on the 8th row...I about shit my pants in hapiness..one of the most memorable moments in my life.

some people, and i used to be one, would say you didn't see pink floyd because waters wasn't there. i saw waters in 97 or 98 in the alamodome, it was great. i just didn't think water's nasal tone could be imitated very well. i also thought pulse was just awful. then again i just don't like gilmour's voice much, but to each his own. i used to be a huge floyd fan in college, but can't really listen to them anymore. live at pompeii is still very impressive though, and used to be a regular during mushroom binges. the version of echoes on there is superb.

Shit, apparently there is more than one song on the movie that isn't on The Wall. I listened to When the Tigers Broke Free and that isn't the song I was thinking of, but I do remember that song from the movie now that I here it. Cool song, thanks for pointing that out, but it definitely isn't the one I was thinking of.

The song I'm talking about is the one where the wall goes zooming across the land, and then there are faces that come out of the wall screaming. I believe the song animated sequence ends abruptly with a hammer breaking some glass at a store in an act of vandalism or theft.

Found it on Wikipedia, it's called What Shall We Do Now? I don't think they ever released a studio version, I can only find live versions of the song. That kind of sucks because the live version leaves out the screams of the faces when they come stetching out of the wall, but still a good find none-the-less.

Like i said in my other post, I have an import that has the songs just like you would hear them from watching the movie "the Wall"..it is called "the Film" & has "When the tigers broke free" & What Shall We Do Now"...if you are a Floyd head, this is a must have CD...along with Live at Pompeii.

I couldn't find that album on Amazon when I searched earlier, where did you get it? Sounds like a cool album, because I've always like the movie version of Mother better than the album version.

HA! I had better seats than you. Of course I had better seats than everybody. We were front row center. Literally. Right in front of David Gilmour. It was fucking awesome.

We completely lucked out. The (then) Mrs. and I went to our local ticket outlet (Sound Warehouse) when they started handing out wristbands. I got like 70 something and she got 2nd. The limit was 6 tickets and the people in front of us were only buying 4. When the tickets went on sale, the chick running the computer had a request for 6 tickets preloaded and she hit "send" as soon as it came online. The kicker is that the people running the Floyd tour that year designated the section one back from the stage as the "golden circle" tickets, allegedly for better views of the laser show. We almost had to fight for our seats because some Richie Rich types who thought they had paid big bucks for front row were PISSED when they found out they were screwed. Those red jacket wearing flunkies earned their money that night... :lol

And may I just say that NOTHING beats the feeling of looking back at 52,000 people who wish they had your seats!

I think I had the best seats in the house... almost the last row at the top. I got to see absolutely everything. It was a religious experience.
