In light of the NY Times "Dan Rather style attack" coordinated with John Kerry's attack on our President and our Military today, I though the following appropriate.

LIBERAL MEDIA BIAS
HIGHLIGHTED IN INVESTIGATIVE REPORT

At Move America Forward, we are very sensitive to reports on media bias. You see, it was largely because of media bias that we launched this organization earlier in the year.

The news media is shamelessly biased in their coverage in a way that is harmful to our country. The media is biased against the military. They are biased against our troops. They are biased against politicians who do not cater to their left-leaning viewpoint.

We watched with disbelief how the media has at times coddled thugs like Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden alike – willing to appease them just so they can get that “exclusive” interview. Think we’re making that up?

Well, here’s the CBS News report on Dan Rather’s interview with Saddam Hussein. An interview that Hussein thought was so favorable, he had it broadcast on all four national Iraqi networks. READ THE CBS NEWS LOVE FEST WITH HUSSEIN HERE <http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/02/21/iraq/main541427.shtml> .

And Time Magazine and ABC News fought it out over who could establish the closest media relations with Osama Bin Laden:

TIME Magazine Interview of Osama Bin Laden <http://www.time.com/time/asia/news/interview/0,9754,174550,00.html>

ABC News Interview of Osama Bin Laden <http://web.archive.org/web/20000706191508/http://abcnews.go.com/sections/world/dailynews/terror_980609.html>

Yet, when it comes to reporting on American troops the media expresses disdain, hostility and suspicion. If only the media afforded the same standards they use towards murderous terrorists when reporting on our troops fighting the war against terrorism.

One news outlet has been curious to report on just how bad the media bias is. Investors Business Daily has been conducting an ongoing Special Report on the press’ bias and we wanted to bring to you some of the highlights… make that lowlights.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Members of the Press Corps
Vote Overwhelmingly Democratic

*In “The Media Elite” – a book written by Robert Lichter, Stanley Rothman and Linda Lichter – 240 journalists who work at ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report were surveyed.

The survey found that in the presidential elections of 1864, 1968, 1972 and 1976 on average, 86% of responding journalists voted for the Democrat candidate.

*In 2001, an update to “The Media Elite” revealed that among national journalists, 76% voted for Michael Dukakis in 1988 and 91% for Bill Clinton in 1992. This was backed up by a “Freedom Forum Poll” of Washington reporters and bureau chiefs: 89% of those surveyed voted for Clinton, versus just 7% for George H.W. Bush.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Public and The Press
Share a Different Perspective

The war on terrorism and specifically, Operation Iraqi Freedom, has provoked some bitter “Blame America First” rants from many of the reporters, producers and anchors at the major television network news divisions.

But, many liberals in the newsrooms of the press corps think they need to go further in criticizing President Bush.

According to the Pew Research Center, by a 7-to-1 margin, journalists felt that they were not critical enough of President Bush’s handling of the war on terrorism. By contrast, the public, by a 3-to-2 ratio in the Pew Research Center poll, thought the media was too critical!

Journalists in the old-line liberal news media monopoly just don’t get it! In the Pew poll, 62% of national journalists surveyed said they simply couldn’t think of a national daily news organization in America that strikes them as particularly liberal. And only 2% said that they believed CBS, CNN or NPR (National Public Radio) had a liberal slant. Are they out of their minds?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slanting the Truth at Election Time

The old-line liberal news media monopoly expresses its left-wing bent most expressively during campaign season. This year has been no different, and conservative candidates face an uphill struggle of getting their message out to the public when they know it will first be filtered/blocked/mocked/ridiculed by the liberal media.

Public Opinion magazine conducted an analysis of the coverage by ABC, CBS and NBC of the 1984 presidential race. The study found that there was a huge disparity in coverage of President Reagan and Walter Mondale. Consider the following:

Reagan received 7,230 seconds of
bad press by the three TV networks.

Mondale only received 1,050 seconds of
bad press by the networks.

Reagan received just 730 seconds of
good or favorable coverage.

Mondale received 1,330 seconds of
good press from the networks.

It should hardly be surprising to see the liberal news media cheering for one political party more than another. As Investors Business Daily points out:

+ MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was a Jimmy Carter speechwriter.

+ NBC’s Tim Russert was a political advisor to Democrat Mario Cuomo.

+ ABC’s Jeff Greenfield was a speechwriter for Senator Robert Kennedy.

+ PBS’ Bill Moyers was Democrat Lyndon Johnson’s press secretary.

+ ABC’s George Stephanopolous was Bill Clinton’s communications director.

+ CBS’ Leslie Stahl worked for Democrat Mayor John Lindsay.

+ CBS News Political Director Dotty Lynch served as the DNC’s Polling Director.

+ CNN’s President, Tom Johnson, was special assistant to Lyndon Johnson.

WE’RE FIGHTING BACK
AGAINST THE LIBERAL OLD-LINE MEDIA

At Move America Forward <http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org> we believe it is so important to provide the other side of the story that the news media doesn’t tell you.

And that’s why we’ll be returning to the airwaves THIS WEEK (starting Tuesday) on multiple national networks with the following commercial… it shows just how shamelessly biased and defeatist the news media has always been when America has been at war.

Please, watch the commercial right now – some of you have already seen it, but even if you have, we encourage you to watch it again:

High-Bandwidth Video <http://www.moveamericaforward.org/Video/MAF-7401-HI.wmv>

Low-Bandwidth Video <http://www.moveamericaforward.org/Video/MAF-7401-LO.wmv>

We’ve been raising money to get this commercial aired on television with greater frequency. It is a 60-second commercial, which is twice as long as the standard 30-second commercial. The downside is that means it is also twice as expensive as standard commercials.

So, it’s very expensive for us to purchase airtime for this ad, which is why you’ve probably only seen it on TV a few times.

Let’s make sure this ad is seen by over 50 million Americans during the days leading up to the Election – CONTRIBUTE HERE TO PAY FOR THIS AD <https://www.completecampaigns.com/contribute/contribute.asp?campaignid=Move>

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ANOTHER WAY TO FIGHT BACK!

Finally, there’s another way you can help fight back against the liberal news media – you can help support news outlets that don’t promote such an offensive liberal bias.

Fox News Channel has enjoyed the success it has precisely because of the disgust millions of Americans have about the left-wing slant of the major television networks.

Well, up until now, most of the major print news publications like the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Time have an equally liberal bias as the big three TV networks.

But there have not been enough center-right print publications out there to offer an alternative source of news for Americans to turn to.

That’s now changing.

We are both very proud to help promote the launch of the Sacramento Union, a print AND online news source that has just launched and stands ready to emerge as one of the most prominent metropolitan news voices in the nation.

And best of all, the people behind the Sacramento Union, launched this print and online news outfit because they too were sick and tired of the old-line media’s liberal bias.

Please, help support this new media outlet, by subscribing online. You’ll get a great source of center-right news in print and online. And you’ll be doing something to help equalize the bias in the print media world.

What a crap-load of shit. The Bush Administration tried to hide this from the International Atomic Nuclear Agency and it came back to bite them in the ass. Now right wing pundits are trying to spin it like its some sort of left-wing conspiracy.

Is anyone buying the crap the aministration is selling?

Um, not many are buying the shit you are selling.

The Bush Administration tried to hide this from the International Atomic Nuclear Agency

Right, which is why the IAEA knew about it from the start. Come on at least try to make a real point.

What the fuck are you talking about? The IAEA hadn't been in the facility since 3 months before the invasion. We reached it one day after Baghdad fell and the stuff was gone. Embedded reporters from NBC were there. It was reported at the time...nobody "hid" anything...

The New York Times committed a premature October Surprise by scooping CBS on a stale story they attempted to make look like was new information.

What's surprising is that NBC busted them on it. That's the big surprise...

And, what's even funnier, is that the Kerry campaign was apparently so heavily invested in this last-ditch effort to undermine the President that he had to stick to the story line and trot out his advertisements based on the non-story.

This is a year and a half old story, the IAEA didn't have anything hid from them by the Bush administration.

Right wing conspiracy theorists don't have to spin anything, it's pretty damn obvious what's happening.

Coming from someone who thinks Bush and CIA planned 9/11, this should be a pretty mundane one for you to brush off.
