...imo:

1. ohio state
2. USC
3. auburn
4. florida
5. west virginia
6. lsu
7. notre dame
8. florida state
9. t.u.
10. michigan

ohio state looked good in showdown against t.u., notre dame made strides in week 2 (was penn state even as good as georgia tech? thankfully ND has michigan and mich. state coming up, which will provide instant feedback), auburn looks very solid, west virginia continues to cruise, lsu as well, florida state has an emotinal letdown (as expected as they were 1-6 against miami in last 7), t.u. moves down to where they should have been before season started, and michigan gets nod over tennessee georgia and louisville. should make for an exciting next week.

Big Games:

1. notre dame v. michigan
2. aubrun v. lsu
3. tennessee v. florida
4. louisville v. miami
5. USC v. nebraska
6. florida state v. clemson
7. oregon v. oklahoma
8. tcu v. texas tech

other games to consider:

iowa v. iowa state (would not be surprised to see state win again this year)

west virginia v. maryland (probably not much of a chance for maryland, but we'll see)

Johnny... Notre Dame slaughtered a top-20 team and they move down while Florida State narrowly escapes Troy and moves up?

1. Ohio State: clearly at the top
2. Auburn: move up over idle USC
3. USC: stay put because their one win was against inferior comp
4. Notre Dame: could in fact move up to #3, but I don't like them that much
5. West Virginia: could be higher, or lower, depending on whom you ask
6. LSU: see WV
7. Florida: solid win after solid win
8. Texas: slip a good deal, mostly from poor 2nd-half showing
9. Michigan: killing people
10. Georgia: typical SEC defense - overwelming

just missed
Florida State: you can't lose to Troy for 3-1/2 quarters and not face some penalty.

Horry For 3!

Texas will be at #7 or #8

I agree with JMark.....FSU does not belong in the top 10. I think #8 for Texas is fair and I like Auburn as a #2.

Question for anyone and everyone.

If SC beats Nebraska and Auburn beats LSU...who do you rank higher?

Auburn.

Not yet they shouldn't.

I agree with Jmark. No way notre dame slaughters Penn who soundly beat akron who proved that they were for real by beating the wolf pack. Auburn makes a good #2 USC might stay put but there should be some votes to put notre dame at number 3. Next week will be telling for the Irish. if they can soundly handle michigan, espicially the nd defense, then Notre Dame is for real.

UT will be 7 or 8 and needs to make sure they lose no more games.

This might be the year there are no undefeated teams going into bowl season. It would be great though if TCU is the only undefeated team, and the bcs goes into shambles.

1. notre dame was overrated to begin with. in my original poll they were not in the top 10...so they moved up

2. USC was completely nasty against arkansas @ ARK

3. florida state beat miami, they are allowed to have a letdown. it was their second win in 8 games against the hurricanes

There is no question that Oregon should be in the top ten. They just won at Fresno State and are 2-0.

as much as i like Oregon and want them to succeed for the sake of the Pac-10...i can't put them in the top 10. i don't think they can beat any of the teams i put in my top 10. but winning at fresno state, though many here will write off as something they should have done, is impressive, imo.

lets see how they do against OU first.

The Ducks can beat any of those teams in your top ten this year. How can Texas be ranked ahead of them after they just got bitch-slapped by OSU? I guarantee the Ducks would not lose by 17 to Ohio State if they played in Eugene. This Oregon team is tremendous this year. I think they will win at USC and if they do they will go undefeated.

Yeah, and Ore State is the real deal, too, right?

Oregon State has a good team, they just got whacked at Boise. The Beavs are my favorite team so I am a homer about them.

1. Oregon would have probably lost by about 20, imo
2. Oregon has no chance at beating USC in LA
3. I love the Pac-10, but thats no reason to take crazy pills

...i was hoping Oregon and Cal would step up big this year and one of them break into the BCS. Oregon might and Cal still has a chance as long as they "shore" up the QB situation. but for right now, neither look good enough.....yet.
