Three suspected car burglars are now in police custody, after slamming their vehicle into a police cruiser overnight.
Officers say the men were trying to break into cars at the Woodway Apartments off Pinebrook, on the northwest side.
When the suspects saw police coming in their direction, they jumped into their car and tried to make a run for it. Instead, they ran straight into a police car.
The suspects were arrested and taken into custody. They face burglary, criminal mischief and evading arrest charges. The crash caused minor damage to the cruiser, but the officer inside was not seriously injured.
