Now we no why Bush hasn't done shit in Iran
Isn't their anything American Business won't sell because it is not in the National Intrest??

Halliburton, the notorious U.S. energy company, sold key nuclear-reactor components to a private Iranian oil company called Oriental Oil Kish as recently as 2005, using offshore subsidiaries to circumvent U.S. sanctions.

The story is particularly juicy because Vice President Dick Cheney, who now claims to want to stop Iran from getting nukes, was president of Halliburton in the mid-1990s, at which time he may have advocated business dealings with Iran, in violation of U.S. law.

Source: "Halliburton Secretly Doing Business with Key Member of Iran's Nuclear Team," Jason Leopold, GlobalResearch.ca, Aug. 5, 2005.

Scandal-plagued Halliburton -- the oil services company once headed by Vice President Cheney -- sold an Iranian oil development company key components for a nuclear reactor, say Halliburton sources with intimate knowledge into both companies’ business dealings.

SNIP

Just last week, a National Security Council report said Iran was a decade away from acquiring a nuclear bomb. That time frame could arguably have been significantly longer if Halliburton, whose miltary unit just reported a 284 percent increase in its second quarter profits due to its Iraq reconstruction contracts, was not actively providing the Iranian government with the means to build a nuclear weapon.

SNIP

On July 27, one of Iran's many state countrolled news agencies, FARS, an 'information' arm of the Islamic judiciary, announced the arrest of several of the executives of the Oriental Oil Kish Company, which is owned by Rafsanjani's children and other relatives.

"They were brought up on charges of economic corruption,"
SNIP
Now comes word that Halliburton, which has a long history of flouting U.S. law by conducting business with countries the Bush administration said has ties to terrorism, was working with Cyrus Nasseri, vice chairman of the board of directors of Oriental Oil Kish, one of Iran’s largest private oil companies, on oil and natural gas development projects in Tehran. Nasseri is also a key member of Iran’s nuclear development team and has been negotiating Iran's nuclear development issues with the European Union and at the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Nasseri was interrogated by Iranian authorities in late July for allegedly providing Halliburton with Iran’s nuclear secrets and accepting as much as $1 million in bribes from Halliburton, Iranian government officials said. During the first round of interrogations in the judiciary, a huge network of oil mafia has been exposed, according to the IPS report.

It’s unclear whether Halliburton was privy to information regarding Iran’s nuclear activites. Halliburton sources said the company sold centrifuges and detonators to be used specifically for a nuclear reactor and oil and natural gas drilling parts for well projects to Oriental Oil Kish.

A company spokesperson did not return numerous calls for comment. A White House spokesperson also did not return calls for comment. :lol :lol

SNIP

Halliburton first started doing business in Iran as early as 1995, while Vice President Cheney was chief executive of the company and in possible violation of U.S. sanctions.

According to a February 2001 report in the Wall Street Journal, “Halliburton Products & Services Ltd. works behind an unmarked door on the ninth floor of a new north Tehran tower block. A brochure declares that the company was registered in 1975 in the Cayman Islands, is based in the Persian Gulf sheikdom of Dubai and is non-American. But, like the sign over the receptionist's head, the brochure bears the company's name and red emblem, and offers services from Halliburton units around the world.” :blah :blah

You do realize that every President since WWII has given Haliburton contracts right?

Cheney advocated lifting sanctions against Iran, he was the head of the company and his job was to run the company, and because it's not like Iran wasn't still able to get it's shit developed by every other development company int he World...this didn't stop the Clinton administration from handing out big government cotracts to Haliburton...something that never gets mentioned...

And they built a shitload of Oil infrastructure for Iran...guess what...their primary civillians business is Oil field development...this just in, Iran has a shitload of Oil...should they have been trying to build it for Syria?

As for the selling of nuclear shit...well that's another thing entirely...and it IS a big deal...

But people that make a big deal about Haliburton getting all these government contracts and Cheney's ties to that company are fucking stupid...they've always gotten them and if they don't get them, a fucking French company will....it's not like there are a ton of companies out there that do this sort of thing.

In Iraq...should we have hired a French company to support our military, one that has no experience doing so I might add...or the company that has done it since WWII?

Still, selling Iran centrifuges crosses the fucking line and heads need to roll over this...

I just wish people would stop acting like Haliburton came into existence when Dick Cheney went to work for them and Bush is now the owner...

They've been getting big government contracts since WWII...from Democrat and Republican alike...including JFK, Clinton and Roosevelt.

Before you reply...

Just do me a favor and go look at who had the development rights for Iraq for when the sanctions were lifted, prior to Saddam being removed...Bone up on your French...before you go googling.

Now since they buttfucked us politically at the advent of this conflict...exactly why should we be giving a company that is basically stated owned by the French multi billion dollar contracts?

I agree that the selling of actual nuclear shit is grounds for Haliburton getting a big foot put up their ass...that crosses the line...

But the military contracts and infrastructure deals? Who should have gotten those contracts? I want to know...

What I don't agree with is all the kneejerk reactions because Cheney used to work for them and tried to find loopholes in the name of making a profit(the way every big company does)...it was his job to do that, and every Oil development company int he world, hell every big company in the world, does that same shit......that was then, this is now....Cheney's ties to this company are factually proven to be non-existent, not to mention that as the VP he doesn't get to hand out these contracts.

And they built a shitload of Oil infrastructure for Iran...guess what...their primary civillians business is Oil field development...this just in, Iran has a shitload of Oil...should they have been trying to build it for Syria?

nope, but IMO, Iran should have been allowed to due business with America since Carter set on his behind for 444 days

DAM RIGHT and Why isn't it being reported and a groundswill of americans screaming to high Heaven about it?

how about the Brits (BP) they are in it with us, for Now

Your talking Iraq, I'm talking IRAN, probabkly the same and as for googling, why don't you check out the rights for the pipeline across afganistan and
who has the spikett to the pipeling right outside our base in turkey? oops
lets stay with iran :angel

Now since they buttfucked us politically at the advent of this conflict...exactly why should we be giving a company that is basically stated owned by the French multi billion dollar contracts?

In Iraq we don't, In afganistan, we don't, however in Iran, split it up, between China, Russia, France, and the US if Iran backs-off of the quest for nukes.

I agree that the selling of actual nuclear shit is grounds for Haliburton getting a big foot put up their ass...that crosses the line...

Maybe they should be punished by not getting any of the oil and some of the responsible people got to jail, than hell.

But the military contracts and infrastructure deals? Who should have gotten those contracts? I want to know...

In Iraq- We should not have been gone there in the first place, therefore the question is rehtorical.

ROFL... this is some shit...

The stuff they are talking about is for Density Neutron logs of oil wells.

You have to have a radioactive source to be able to run the wireline down the hole and take the Density reading of the rock below the surface.

It also could be a setup for creating NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) which is like a MRI but of rock below the surface.

It isnt for some Nuclear fucking reactor... rofl...

Fucking liberals.

On a side note....

I R A N doesn't need 3, 5, or 10 years to develop weapons grade plutonium in order to cause nuclear harm...

If they wanted to build "dirty bombs" they would be able to do that as of 'yesterday'....

If you haven't seen the movie 'dirty war' I recommend you all watch it.

A dirty bomb set off in the heart of a major financial district would be just as devastating as a nuclear blast... economically speaking of course. The area would have to be sectioned off for at least 50+ years... everyone within a 15 mile radius (depending on the impact zone) would have to move out... The world economy would take a major hit....

It would be a tragic day...

Now why didn't that bill pass... the one that would have security scanned every shipping crate entering the US.

It didn't pass because it doesn't make for a prudent business decision. They want it both ways.

Ok...

how about the Brits (BP) they are in it with us, for Now

1. Because the Brits aren't the ones with 100k troops over there footing the majority of th bill and casualties in this war...America and it's taxpayers is.

Fuck that....if they want that shit they carry the bulk of this war.

2. The Brits are the ones that fucked up the Middle East in the first place...in particular British(fuck the poor)Petroleum.

Someday you and I need to take a trip to Iran and Iraq...

I'll wear a Tshirt with the American Flag on it and you can wear the British Petroleum Flag...

I'll shed a tear for you as you get killed.

Jeezus Christ...you think Haliburton is a big souless corporation? Compared to BP they are Saint Haliburton.

3. There are British companies involved.

In Iraq- We should not have been gone there in the first place, therefore the question is rehtorical.

Bzzzt...

Ok...I no longer take you seriously as a poster since you weren't following politics prior to last year.

Yea right the American way, any fucking thing for a profit or contributions for the Democratic/Republican party -i.e. chinagate.

Um...I suggest you google British Petroleum...

That's the Capitalist way...America keeps it in check and it is by and large separated from the government..unlike virtually every other country which it isn't...in particular, France, China...

I want to you to show the me the company that isn't doing everything for profit...I want to show me the country that doesn't act in it's own best interest. America does it more altrusitically than any of our current enemies and political rivals...especially any of those fuckers over in Europe.

What's the European way?

Fascism, Nazism, Anti-Semitism? Those were their major contributions during the 20th century...and Communism.

Maybe they do this because DC is still making $ from Hailburton-In his Blind (HA HA) Trust

Yawn...standard bullshit...post some links.

I hope we do...since we footed the fucking bill for the coldwar. Damn right I hope we do...not sure why you think any other multibillion dollar conglomerate is going to be sensitive and caring...

In Iraq we don't, In afganistan, we don't, however in Iran, split it up, between China, Russia, France, and the US if Iran backs-off of the quest for nukes.

Those are the most fucking corrupt civilized countries in the world...

Jeezuc Christ I hope you aren't a registered voter...

I want you to fucking tell me what those countries have done that makes them more trustworthy or deserving to be in control and influence anywhere than us...

What in the fuck have they done?

Maybe they should be punished by not getting any of the oil and some of the responsible people got to jail, than hell.

In Iraq- We should not have been gone there in the first place, therefore the question is rehtorical.

Uh no..since we are there, it isn't rhetorical..there's only one other company that actually could have pulled it off...and it's a fucking French Company...

France, Germany, Russia, China...can go fuck themselves...if they had wanted to be included in the rebuilding...they should have contributed to the war effort.

Ask yourself why they didn't want to contribute...hint, think multi billion dollar development deals and in bed with Saddam...don't think some kind of nobility and caring.

Yea right the American way, any fucking thing for a profit or contributions for the Democratic/Republican party -i.e. chinagate.

Oh yeah..we should be more like France, Russia and China...

Hey...you can probably defect to China.

Duh- You do realize Hailburton went into Iraq, without any contracts. Nothing was put up for Bid. They were supposed to be the only American Co that could put out the fires at the Oil Fields, but the story on how to get a
job, contract with this administration is just beginning to break; i.e.;http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50152
