Mitch Mustain 13/20 224 3/1

Vandy was a better team than I thought. They were up on Michigan at halftime, should have beat Bama til a late FG lost it, and they missed the 50 yard FG to beat Arkansas today. Tough luck but honestly Vandy is no more a cupcake just because they're QB is gone.

For Mitch, this game was big time. His first SEC game, on the road, he torches the air.

And what's awesome is Springdale's old QB Mustain, WR Williams and TE Cleveland all caught passes today, and Ben Cleveland had one for a TD. All freshmen.

Our offense is still sputter-like. One minute the run is unstoppable and the next Vandy is blown open for a 50 yard pass. That's been the goal for the new Razorbacks, multi-deminsional. And today was a huge stepping stone.

It wasn't all pretty, we had several penalties that would have costed us the game. Houston Nutt subbing late got us several penalties as well. Overall Hog Nation is happy though.

To think Jones, McFadden are just sophmore's. Williams, Crawford, Mustain, Cleveland all freshmen. Hillis+Monk juniors. Next season has to be the biggest year for Arkansas since the 80s. The talent is there.

But still a sorry ass coach.

His obvious weaknesses are pretty common but impressive given the fact of his class.

He lofts the ball too much, he has great power and accuracy but is afraid of being picked off. On the screens we run and 10 yard cut backs if he learns to put real velocity on the ball it would open everything else up. Another thing is once he feels real pressure in the pocket he hurries of course but a bit too much. All freshman jitters but Monk is a big, badass reciever and Mitch needs to get it to him more next weak vs Bama.

No they were down 13-7 at halftime, but still looked impressive.
