I personally say Lebron James. He's take a 17 win team to 50 wins and the second round of the playoffs in three years-all by himself. He's the second best offensive player in the league, and an even better passer.

Duncan

Love Wade, Like LeBron, dislike Kobe.
But that has nothing to do with the question.
The correct answer is 'none of the above'.
Lets try along the lines of KG, Duncan, Dirk, before this is a lagit conversation.
Of the 3, right now, I would be hard pressed to pick between LeBron and D-Wade. Kobe is a talent, but he shoots too much and his ego is too big for him to be able to win.

Right now, Kobe Bryant is the best individual talent in the NBA. In a few years, though, when Lebron's improved his defense...

Between these 3 guys, I'd say Kobe.

Seeing everything that Lebron has done at the age of 21, I think he has the potential to be a top 3 player of all time, and maybe even #1.

And btw, I was considering putting Duncan here, but then I realized that this was a spurs forum so that wouldn't be a good idea...

If you woulda put Dirk on the poll, you would've recieved death threats.

Most consider Kobe to be better than Lebron, but you can't deny that Lebron is getting close. And don't forget that Kobe is 7 years older. Lebron will most likely become the face of the league within the next two years.

Of the ones listed I would go with Kobe first, Wade second, and Lebron third. Duncan and Dirk are better than the ones listed though.

I find Kobe Bryant a completely disingenuous person. I think he's a fraud, a phony etc.
Cares more about his marketability than actually winning.
That being said...he's definately the best player in the world. No offense to D.Wade (who comes across as humble) or LeBron (who is easy to root for), but they can't hold a candle to Kobe.

If you put KG in there, you would have gotten the familiar response of "He's never won anything" or "He's not clutch".
Both are BS statements due to the lack of talent around him. Then when he had that supporting cast in 2004, the so called know it alls didn't have a leg to stand on.

I hate it that guys like KG, AI & Kobe get a pass, because they don't have talent around them. That's a crock because those "talentless" players wouldn't be in the NBA if they didn't have talent, at least at some point in their career. I think it's a motivation issue, a coaching issue, and/or a team chemistry issue. Two of which can be directly attributed to the franchise player, imo.

If the question was "who would you want on your team?", my answer would be LeBron.

You play to win the game. Since Wade just got done carrying his team to a championship he's got to get the nod, for now.

Kobe of course...are people that dense...Kobe plays defense and offense unlike the rest of those players...And to the person who thinks Dirk is better than #24 is a Knob. 1 decent season from Dirk and he's considered the best....surely you're eating homer o's again. Now, I love Dirk, and I argue about Wade with my boys as well. Lebron will slow down, mark my words. All they have to do is call travelling 2/5 times down the court and his numbers will go down.
Shaq is the best every year. he brings every team he's been on, to the championship level. who else can say that?

Kobe seems to be the favorite for now, but I think that Lebron's going to be quite a bit better in a few years.

Tim Duncan.
Even if it's only been for one team, the Spurs have been considered contenders every season he's been in SA.

Hold is the key word here. Their offense may compare to Kobe Bean somewhat, but Kobe will also gaurd your best wing! Kobe will be the best perimeter player in the NBA until someone not only matches his "o" but also his "d"

Tim emineffing Duncan! Shaq has 4 rings but he lost in the finals once. When Tim plays in June he's like MJ.... UNDEFEATED!

W/ out being traded!
I am a huge fan of D Wade. No other player in the leauge seems to have his court vision, his ability to turn around a game with one play, to wake up crowds no matter where he is playing. I think he is one of the most exciting players in the NBA. Wish he was in the Silver and Black!

Dwayne Wade are the future of our league, and LeBron will be better than Kobe at his age, but there should be no doubt that from those players, Kobe is way ahead all of them. He can shoot, attack, rebound, slash, and play D. As an all-around player, Kobe is the man.

Hey...East Coast Bimbo: LeBron IS better than those 3 at age TWENTY ONE!! So barring major injury yes, he will be among the elite if not the best. Referring to his performance this summer is just ignorant. They weren't playing AGAINST each other :idiot. Magic and Bird came into great programs with legendary player already on their team as rookies (Magic with Kareem, Bird with McHale, Parish in his 3rd year). Did LeBron have anything to work with in his first years? Oh yah...Big ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.
