Store Clerk Hit with Hammer, Robbed of Pennies

A store clerk was hit in the head with a hammer during a robbery early Tuesday, and all that was taken was four rolls of pennies, San Antonio Police said.
The attack happened at a Valero store off Medina Base Road on the southwest side.
Twenty-eight-year-old Mae Holly went inside the store and first asked for gas money, authorities said. But, when she did not get any, she left, police said.
Holly then walked back into the store, armed with a hammer, then hit the store clerk in the head with it, San Antonio Police said.
According to police, Holly then took four rolls of pennies, the equivalent of $2, from the register.
