Claxton Sustains Fractured Bone In Left Hand
21st September, 2006 - 4:50 pm
Press Release - Atlanta Hawks guard Craig “Speedy” Claxton has sustained a fracture of the third metacarpal bone in his left hand, according to Hawks head athletic trainer Wally Blase.

The injury occurred during a workout on Monday. He was examined today by Hawks team physician Dr. Michael Bernot, and will visit hand specialist Dr. Stephen McCollam tomorrow. Claxton is expected to be out of action for five-to-six weeks, but none of his off-court conditioning activities will be limited, according to Blase.

“Speedy was involved in a routine off-season workout, as many NBA players participate in,” said Hawks

Executive Vice President/General Manager Billy Knight. “The injury is unfortunate, as it prevents him from continuing the strong off-season work he’s put in thus far. But we expect a quick and full recovery.

:lmao It's funny because it's true. Although I'm not sure they're even going to reach 9th place at the East. :lmao

I love Speedy to death, but no team should EVER plug him in as starting PG. China Doll only begins to describe his history. He's the Cotton Camby of PGs.

I'm pretty sure it's Glass Camby not Cotton Camby. :spin

I'd LOVE to have him on our roster...as a backup. He's probably the best backup PG in the league, but teams keep making the mistake of thinking he can play a season at starter minutes. He's never done it, and probably never will.

:lol If he was on our roster right now he'd be out for five to six weeks. But I know what you mean though, I was hoping that he'd sign with the spurs during the off season.
