The patience of the Red Sox hitters have been extraordinary. LaRussa is just about ready to get pitchers up in the bullpen already.

Unless we have more errors. :)

They're getting there. The 4-5 and 6 hitters for the Cards have been non-existant in this series. I wouldn't be surprised if three runs for the Sox seal it.

middle of the 2nd. Sox strand 2 more base runners
Still 1-0

The more the Red Sox continue to put people on base, the chances of them blowing the game wide open gets better. I wouldn't be surprised if LaRussa goes to his pen by the fourth inning.

I agree, he was a cancer with his attitude in the clubhouse. It was no coincidence that the Sox got looser and started winning when he was dealt to the Cubs.

Pujols made an incredible defensive play again. Threw out the runner at the plate for the 2nd time tonight. What a great player he is.

Joe Buck is such a Cards homer...

The Red Sox are about to win their first World Series in 86 years, and he sounds utterly depressed about it.

Jimcs50
10-27-2004, 10:10 PM
Bases loaded, no outs, and Isringhausen gets them all out with no runs scored. Great pitching and defense behind him.

6 more outs!

The fans in Boston are getting, to borrow a New England phrase, "wicked drunk" right now. Think they will be allowed to call in sick tomorrow? :)

It is pretty nice being a Boston sports fan nowadays. You have the Patriots winning 21 straight, and the favs to repeat the Super Bowl win again, and you have the Red Sox who broke an 86 yr drought....Very nice indeed.

It is. New England sports fans are crazier than any other fans anywhere. There is no doubt about it.

I've lived in Boston and experienced the hysteria. It's great to see them win.

I'm in Portland, Maine right now and people are honking their horns and screaming on the street. Good times.

After growing up in New England, this victory is about as sweet as it gets.
