...funny how just b/c USC beat Arkansas 50-14, they were crappy all of a sudden. the media, fans, and non-fans were all talking about how, "yeah USC beat ARK but they suck."

let me take this moment to congratulate Brutalis on a nice run of 3 in a row and some good play by Mustain. hopefully Arkansas will continue to play well and break into the top 25...just as A&M will when they beat tech this weekend. i care not that the three teams were Utah State, Vanderbilt, and Alabama...thats still pretty good.

no doubt about it:

ARK

1. @ auburn
2. @ s. carolina
3. tennessee
4. LSU

USC

1. Oregon
2. Cal >>> starting to look like their preseason ranking
3. notre dame
4. @ ucla

*ASU and Washington could be tough games, though probably not. i am starting to think the Cal game could be pretty scary....and don't forget Cal is the last Pac-10 team to beat SC.

Although I am humbled kind sir I am not pleased.

Reggie Herring preached one thing to the defense. Pressure the offensive line and tackle. But I guess he forgot about our secondary. Understanding we have had key injuries to deal with, we are very lucky. We have moved so many players positions it's just a "let's see what happens" feeling in Hog Nation. Gus is trying to call the plays, Nutt keeps getting scared and taking over at some point. Mustain is wondering "just who the bleep am I listening to" (no really) and DMac is wondering "did they forget about me?"

Then there's other ways to go about installing a more west coast type offense. Obviously DMac has shown he can run no matter the formation but anytime we are in the I or ace it's run. And defenses know it. Luck of teams missing kicks is why we are 3-1. Mitch is doing fine. He put the ball where it mattered for all the marbles. He overall is doing alright for a true freshman.

"suck this nutt"

Happy to be lucky, but rather have this kind of luck in bigger games more often. We should be better than the stories behind being 3-1.

Brutalis

A win is a win you're right johnny boy.

And you can't go calling an upset yet cause Auburn has the other USC in a big conference game. And that's tomorrow night.

I, personally, don't wish a player to get hurt. But Auburn has too good of a team for some young talented Pigs crew to walk into Alabama and beat them. They're already known as the recruiting cheaters of the SEC and they are flat stacked. They played a bad game against LSU and that was not their true colors.

Arkansas needs the other Tigers to pimp slap the Cocks tomorrow night and hope we get an over confident team a week from Saturday. We have a "Mitch" needed bye week and I just hope it's not a blowout.

Arkansas was outscored by 39 points in 6 losses within the conference which is an average of 6.5 last season. That's just a FYI stat I guess. Our offense is dead, and waiting to find the right tools to win. Installing a brand new offense doesn't happen over a couple games, it could take all year... but Nutt has already stated the last two years were "rebuilding seasons" which is a load of shit considering that FYI stat I mentioned. We had talent and in the end just didn't use it because of our HC being a giant retard.

Last year they wooped us at home 34-17. And it will be a similiar score October 7th. We'll lose 38-21. Casey Dick (last years true freshman brought in the last 4 games of the year) will see some action I bet. If not, that shows our coaches and team are behind Mitch 100%.

You have to ask yourself though about Darren McFadden. He is a top 10 back in the NCAA on most people's list and we are just not using him enough.

Teams knows if we are in the I, and DMac is in the back, we are running. And we have got owned for it. Teams know if we are in ace formation with DMac, it's a playaction or a simple handoff.

Gus took off his headset in the 4th of the Bama game and didn't put it back on. Mitch asked "Who the fuck am I listening too?" and Gus said "Who knows" and Nutt/Gus had a few ..words.. on the sideline. True story.

Gus likes to be on the sidelines, he don't like being in a pressbox. But he might have to soon that way and he can't be interrupted by Nutt's stupid "we should do this" comments.

I know this board does not like the Pigs at all, it's a freaking Texas sports place really. But there has never ever been so much drama with the Hogs. Even the fucked up 90s don't compare to the last 3 years on the Hill.

If Nutt makes 8 wins, he'll be back next year. If he don't, he is gone. Bet on that. And Arkansas is just waiting for their golden boy to step down gracefully so we can focus on our talent and capability to be a BCS team in the near future. We have the players, but lack the leader of a HC.

Brutalis
09-27-2006, 02:21 PM
Well the Pac-10 and SEC don't really compare. It's pretty much USC and the Weak-9.

Anyhoo. Any Hogs fan can tell ya.. we got plenty experience dealing with fans in the state of Texas. You can't just come here a Spurs fan and dog teams within the state like you sorta have. :P

UT fans are some of the most arrogant sluts you'll ever meet. But Hogs fans are biased. And when arrogance meets bias it's a war. The only real thing I could not like about UT is the fact they dodge playing football games against Arkansas. Some Texas writers say "Arkansas hates us and we don't care about them so we have more to lose" or "Arkansas is apart of the old dominant SWC that's dead and they need to get over" when in reality Arkansas as a program lost it's recruiting power because of the SWC fall. We got out guys from Arkansas, OK, Texas, period. And now we have to keep stretching the recruiting limits and it's pretty hard to just join a powerhouse conference like the SEC for decades and just be good. Given, we have had poor coaches and decisions made that's our fault we should have never joined the SEC to begin with. Should have done like Texas and formed a new conference even if it is overrated. Would love to play in the Big-12. That's a gurenteed 8 wins each season instead of a toss up in the SEC. Not afraid of good teams but for the programs sake the SEC ruined Arkansas. They expected us to just carry over our traditional winning ways and didn't even think of the market and recruiting sides of the story. We accepted cause of our bias confidence and are still getting owned for it. Meanwhile we blame Texas for the fall of the SWC and they blame us. So who cares.

The Big-12 would no doubt welcome our college, the point of having a conference is to be successful, make money and win win win. Conferences want and need the best teams to stay afloat.

Within the next 5 years Arkansas will have a new AD cause Broyles will be history (love the man, his accomplishments and the Broyles award will always be a prized honor of college football but the man now old and out of his mind)... Nutt will be gone. A lot of changes will be made. I'm sure Razorback Stadium will be closed instead of having a horseshoe look sort of like OSU's cept 20k less seats. As loud as our home is closing it would put us in the top-15 hardest places to play. Things will get better. More changes just have to be made!

of course you know ALL of them so you can speak for ALL of us. :rolleyes

I understand you don't like Texas and that is cool and I understand that you support your Hogs and that is cool also. You sound like the kind of fan that sticks with their team no matter what and that is the best kind of fan. Obviously you have had negative experiences with UT fans and that sucks. Sadly all teams have those kinds of fans. But you should also know that there are a lot of fans like myself who root passionately for our team but are able to drink a beer afterward with opposing fans and have a good time. Personally I believe most fans are good and its just a few that give the rest a bad name. That is a guess of course because there is no accurate way to determine how many fans a school has so you can not accurately extrapolate how many fans makes "most" and therefore cannot determine how many are good and bad. I have always though Arkansas had a good fan base...they love their team and support it no matter what. The old SWC basketball tourneys come to mind. Oh and someone tell Sooner fan that Hog fan invented the upside-down Longhorn. :)

It wasn't solely Texas or Arkansas' fault. It was schools like SMU, A&M and Houston who kept trying to blow the whistle on each other as well as bad play on the field. UT and the Hogs were two of the bright spots. The collapse of the SWC was a group effort.

are you fucking retarded? do you read any of my posts? can you even read?

1. i have been going to Aggie games since i was about 8; my dad went to A&M, his dad, his dad, etc. and i went my freshman year

2. even while going to school in California i would attend A&M games, when i did not have rugby games and SC was trouncing lessor opponents

3. i attend A&M games now that i have moved back to Texas; i was born in San Antonio. fyi, i will be @ the A&M vs. Tech game this weekend and have already been to 3 of the 4 games this year

4. so, you can stop right there. i am MORE qualified than most to have an opinion on the matter...and imo, even more so than YOU

5. i have been to about 150 CFB games in my short life

my opinion of fans in the big 12 (in order of worst to least worst, lol):

1. tech
2. colorado
3. t.u.
4. baylor
5. missouri
6. kansas state
7. oklahoma state
8. iowa state
9. nebraska
10. kansas
11. oklahoma

...i have been to every opponents stadium. i am including students and alumni as i have sat with both sides. and i am not including the 2% of crazy fans that each team has. it should also be noted that i don't think fans being loud and cheering for their team, no matter how loud or crazy is bad...so it was not factored into this.

if you don't agree with the rankings...you're wrong. :)

Pac-10 discussion:

1. Oregon
2. Cal
3. ASU

...all good teams with UCLA, Washington, and WSU on the rise. don't diss my Pac-10, its a much better conference than you think. btw, i never said the SEC and Pac-10 were equal.

What kind of a FUCKIN' 'Tard would think the SEC is weaker than the Trojans & the other 9 this yr?

Oh yeah, someone who thinks they're a Trojan but left agland after ONLY 1yr because it sucked so bad.
I guess West Hollywood is a JGW type of town, plenty of guys loving guys.

BRUT,
The SEC has proven that when teams like lOUsy are going down (and this is becomng all too regular) that the SEC wins out over even the Big 10 because after the Bucks & Mich who else is a threat almost every yr to win it all?
Congrats BRUT, despite all the bullshit we people with common sense know that the Trojans & Weak 9 can't hold a candle to the SEC as far as conferences go.

2. you can speculate all you want, why i left Texas A&M my freshman year...all i will say, and it is the truth, is that it had nothing to do with A&M...i had a great time there my freshman year

I'll break it down cause it's kind of fun.

Big 12- Texas/Oklahoma and Texas/A&M
Big 10- Michigan/Ohio State
Pac 10- Who fuck/Ing Cares
SEC- Auburn/LSU Tenn/Florida to name just two

You have to have the knockout punch. If Arkansas became successful in the B12 and still played the boot rivalry with LSU would make good dough for the B12. It would be hell to pay in recruiting for you and OK though. We'd get so good. I hope it happens one day.

Meanwhile we blame Texas for the fall of the SWC and they blame us.

How did you come up with that? Arkansas left the SWC in '91. The rest of the conference disbanded in '96.

You can blame SMU - maybe a little - but there is no way in hell that Arkansas can blame Texas for the breakup of the SWC when the Hogs were the first ones out the door.

Well personally I don't have a big opinion about it other than that's what everyone says around here. I don't even know what order the teams left. All I know is the track record of the conference was good. Maybe one sided by a few teams the whole time but still good.

I often search for a story on the conference disbanding online somewhere. There has to be documentation about it I'm sure.

zero. i played rugby in college. i had some offers from a 1AA school and 2 division 2 schools...but none of them were schools that i wanted to attend. plus i figured if i really wanted to play CFB at the school i decided to attend i could try and walk on. i played RB and DB in high school though i am not large in stature, in high school i was 5'9" 175 and senior year in college (@ winger) i was 5'10" 190.

...not that you wanted to know all that, but now you do. so again, to answer your question, zero. though, i did flirt with the idea of playing football and playing rugby and went out for football briefly and decided that it was impossible. my first love was rugby and CFB second. it all started at A&M when i was going to try and walk on the Aggie team with Ryan Forester...about a week before that i met someone from the rugby team and he had me come out to practice...love at first contact...LOL. anyway...Ryan went out for football and i played rugby.

...lol, think before you post. why would i make a bet that puts the odds heavily in your favor? for me to win, two things have to happen, for you to win, only one has to happen. and if you used your brain, for once, you'd realize that this discussion has been about IF A&M beats tech what will their ranking be.

You used IF once agian BUT, NOT SO FAST my little wannabe Trojan!
I think the post of discussion had the word "WHEN", as in when anm wins vs Tech or something.
Am I wrong or are you flaking ONCE AGAIN?

hopefully Arkansas will continue to play well and break into the top 25...just as A&M will when they beat tech this weekend...

You cannot possibly believe A&M is a top twenty five team in the nation. You just cannot possibly truely believe that.

sure i can. if A&M beats tech then they will/should be in the top 25...its simple. let me ask you this:

...you cannot honestly believe t.u. was a top 5 team to start the season...you just cannot honestly believe that, can you?

lol. its called an opinion, and i thought before the season started USC was the second best team in the nation, A&M would be a top 20 team, and t.u. was highly overrated @ 2 or 3 (whatever it was). i still think t.u. @ 7 is too high...should be behind louisville and lsu, imo.

Well, that's one person's opinion.
Whether it is realistic or not.........

Tell you the truth, I don't follow Trinity Univ. that much.
They almost always go far in the playoffs though.

Arkansas just put the icing onto the cake....4 minutes to go, 27-10 Razorbacks. Great job.

Auburn, don't complain about being left out of the BCS NC game before the season is half over!!!!

Horry For 3!
