The signs were all there for the blasted curse to end.

1. Boston only team to win a series after being 3 games down. Winning games 4 and 5 on blown saves by Rivera who up til then never blew a save in LCS history.

2. Boston first team to win a WS game with 4 errors in 54 yrs(They did it twice)

3. First team to win 8 straight games to win WS

4.St Louis' last out was by Edgar Renterea a player who wears # 3, which was Babe Ruth's number

5. When the last out was made, Johnny Damon in center field and Gabe Kapler in right field hugged in the outfield. Their numbers? 19 and 18

What a wild ride it has been....I need a vacation from sports.:)

More interesting facts.

Boston is enjoying themselves often at St Louis' expense. In all 4 major sports, Boston has either broke through to it's first championship against a St Louis team or broke a long drought.

Basketball- Celtics win their first championship against St Louis in 1957

Hockey- Bruins win the Stanley Cup stopping a 29 yr drought against the St Louis Blues in 1970(also a 4-0 sweep)

Football- The Patriots win their first Super Bowl against the St Louis Rams

Baseball- 86 yr drought stopped against the Cardinals
