it just depends on what you like and the style of gameplay you like. for me its nba live this yr. i picked it up and i love the playing style/controls. graphics are always great on the live series as well. 2k7 is a tad more real as in the players moves and such but its not worth the game play. NBa live has dynasty mode, it has allstar weekend and such things that are pretty cool as well.
Besides Tmac>shaq any day lol

Haha, Live 07 has to have the worst cover decision ever. Why put T-Mac on the Live 07 cover? What'd he do last year? Put Kobe on it or Nash, but not T-Mac. And 2k, they've only had 3 different people on their covers, so it doesn't matter.

Have fun

I Dl'd the "PCDVD" release...and one of the rar files was corrupted...so stay away from it.

I just DL'd the "RELOADED" torrent of Live. So far so good. The game is pretty sweet. The dunking comp is alot of fun. No complaints. I'd definetly recommend it.

But once 2k7 is rerleased, I'll DL it aswell.

Anyone know if Live this year still lets people pull off 40+ steals with Lebron James in any game? If so I'll pass

2K is way better, hands down, and NBA 07 for PS3 is pretty good too.

What other games do you have for the 360 and which ones would you recommend?

Gears of War
Rainbow Six: Vegas
NBA 2k7
Oblivion
Call of Duty 2

All of these games are amazing, and look great on X360. NBA Live 07 looks pretty on the box, but it's too buggy to be enjoyable. The last really good Live EA made was Live 2000. I think 2k7 is a lot more fun... better control, the signature shots (ie, Marion's jumper, Kobe's fadeaway, TP's teardrop, etc), no real gameplay bugs, etc. Live 07 has a lot of bad collision issues, and the AI is ridiculously stupid. The game was such a dog that EA had to lower its price on XBox 360 to $40 like a month after it came out, and then they canceled it for PS3.

2k7 for the 360 is amazing. The other day when I was playing my friend in 2k7, and I was the suns and noticed the Marion jumper. It would pretty damn funny, I wasn't really expecting it and it looked pretty damn funny. But it really was realistic.

If anybody in here has 2K7 for the 360 and has Xbox Live let me know, we can play against each other!

Gears of War is really, really good. System is almost worth it alone.

I can only speak to NBA2K7 which I play on my 360. I've been playing basketball video games since about 92-93, and this game is by far the best I've ever played, no other game comes close. I'm about halfway through the season with the Spurs (I play all 82 games) on the career/association mode, and it just blows me away how good this game is. You can do everything, from scheduling practices during the week, managing your team with trades and free agent pickups, and most importantly how you play the game. It's all very realistic and I love how you actually have to run your offense to get points. I tried at the beginning of the season to just isolate and beat teams with one-on-one play, the result? A 4-5 start to the season. From there on I started running my offense and working the passing game, playing better D, now my record is at about 26-15 and my Spurs are slowly getting better and better. I just love the hell out of playing this game. :drunk

I got a 360 this weekend and picked up a copy of Live 07 and I got to say I was really dissapointed with the game....as a whole. Graphics of course looked great but navigating the game was a pain and the actual game play itself was the worst of all the Live games I've had. It just seemed to me that you need to use special moves to get anything done. Simply allowing the player movement to come naturally just wasn't there. Getting a simple fluid shot was practically impossible. I've always bought Live and been a Live supporter from the beginning. I've never played any of the 2k games so I can't make a comparison but I'll be getting 2k soon to see if its any better. Total let down for me.

Ouch, that sucks. Did you not read any reviews or was it package you bought? I rented Live, just to see for myself. I couldn't imagine wasting $60 on that.

I love the scouting and player development in 2k7 too. The game is so hard to get block shots on though, at least without comitting tons of fouls. I guess that's a good thing, compared to Live '06 where I'd have Duncan rejecting 15 shots a game when I played online or on superstar mode.

The Association mode is far better than anything Live has ever had. In Live it was so easy to make trades for superstars. In Live '06 on superstar , the computer was agreeable to my making trades to form a starting lineup of LeBron, Kobe, KG, Dirk, and TD, with guys like Arenas and Amare off the bench. In 2k7 trades are so much more realistic.

As for GoW, graphically, it's the greatest console game ever made. The lighting in it is amazing. Not sure if it's good enough to make you buy a console you wouldn't get otherwise, but then again, RB6: Vegas, NBA 2k7, and the upcoming Halo 3 make the 360 a must-have.

^Oh yeah, you can do shorter seasons. Or, if you want can do an 82 game season and then just simulate the games you don't want to play. I try to play all 82 games, but do usually end up simulating games against the bad teams. You can also customize the post-season with different formats if you don't like best of 7.

I'm guessing the graphic are better than Live too.

The animations, yes. The textures (especially the faces) are nowhere near the level they are on Live. EA's artists are amazing, and on close ups Live looks far better. That's not to say 2k7 doesn't look incredible, because it does. Ingame it looks just as good, and the lighting and blurring effects are on par with Live's. The faces are will look better on Live on cut-scenes (ie replays, introductions), but the cut-scenes on 2k7 are spectacular too. Gameplay-wise, and overall, they're not even in the same league though.

This is coming from someone who used to be a huge Live fanatic. I used to make tons of patches for that series...

here's an example of stuff I did for Live '06:

2k7 is hands down the better game, but it's not perfect.
As for the person asking if Gears of War alone is enough to buy a 360 console, I'd say only if you're going to get xbox Live. That way you can download patches, demos, xbox live arcade games, rosters for sports games, etc...

This trade doesn't even work on NBA Live, and every trade works on NBA Live.

I've always been a fan of both games for different things they offer. But Live kept my interest for about 20 minutes then I tried 2K7 and have not put Live in my Xbox again...

Does anybody here like simulation games like Strat-O-Matic, or online franchise simulations like Simgalaxy? I never was a big fan of the arcade sports games.

Live is GARBAGE period. I got a free copy from work along with 2k7 and I think I made it though one quarter of Live before pulling it from my 360. I cannot believe that EA even put that pile of shit out on the shelves.

2k7 is amazing. The pure fact that every player shoots like they do in real life is a selling point in itself.

The one positive thing about Live 07 is that a lot of people are going to get fired for it. EA really screwed up in 2000 when they went and hired a patch-maker for their previous games to design their new ones, which really pissed off a lot of the team, and led them to quit. This was the team that was responsible for the masterpiece known as NBA Live 2000, still one of the greatest sports games ever made, and easily the best NBA game EA has ever made.

I wish someday EA could recapture what they had in Live 2000.
