Youths threw stones at passing people and cars, windows of parked cars were smashed, bus shelters were demolished, cars were set ablaze, a youth club was arsoned and a shop was looted. Two molotov cocktails were thrown into St.Peter’s hospital, one of the main hospitals of central Brussels.

Ramadan Rioting in Brussels
From the desk of Paul Belien on Tue, 2006-09-26 17:17
Last Sunday the Islamic holy month of Ramadan began. It lasts until 23 October. Many will remember last year’s ramadan riots, which set France and, to a lesser extent, parts of Belgium and Denmark, alight. Rioting went on for three weeks. Each night thousands of cars were set alight by immigrant youths, until the French and Belgian governments ordered the police to no longer divulge any information about the disturbances, after which the media stopped reporting, the youths lost interest and the number of nightly “carbecues” in France dropped to the “normal” level of about 50

Not all white people; because of the nature of our democracy at the time -- representative republic that it is -- it actually took a majority of white Congressmen agreeing with Civil Rights reforms for it to become a reality. And, if you'll check, it was primarily white conservative Republicans who sided with Civil Rights advocates.
Further, if you'll check history, there were more than a few blacks that were opposed to desegregation. They liked it like that, as they say. Much like the segregated Muslim communities of Europe. Or, if it helps, much like the segregated inner-city communities of our very own major cities. Try to be a white person moving into an almost exclusively black area of Watts.

..but that all changed with JFK. The segregationists hated Kennedy for liking the blacks, and the hispanics, and the Jews, so the once yellow-democratic South started shifting to the party that welcomed men with thoughts like Allen with open arms.

Yet Southern whites blamed Democratic Presidents Kennedy and Johnson for the passage of civil rights, and nearly quantitatively defected from the Democratic Party.
Forty years later, Southern Democrat-turned-Republicans have turned Reagan's conservative movement into a bloated joke of authoritarianism and corruption.

The only people segregating Muslims in Europe are the Muslims themselves. Trying to equate this with the civil rights movement is uneducated and shortsighted.

"The only people segregating Muslims in Europe are the Muslims themselves"
bullshit. Racism is deep and severe problem in all European countries. It was easy for the Europeans to look down their noses at the US problems with race riots in the 60s, when Europe mostly lilly white. But in the 60s and 70s, the dark skinned adult immigrants arrived in hordes from Turkey, N. Africa, W. Africa. When their boys, born in Europe, started to get to mischief-making age in the late 80s, all hell broke loose and hasn't stopped.
When confronted with racial diversity at much less percentage of total poplulation than the US, the Europeans were exposed as racist as the Americans.
Radicalization of (young) European Muslims arises from the same poverty and futureless, hopeless lives as is found in Muslim countries, but it's compounded by racism and surrounded by white wealth.

So are you saying that the radicalization of Muslims in the middle East is caused by this reason?

Look at the rest of the world, it's even booming in China, but for the most part economic prosperity has forgone most of the people in the M.E., poverty is rampant, unemployment average in the 20's, all this despite state coffers being filled with oil profits. So what's happening to the money? The M.E. Oligarchs hope that the Bin Ladens of the world keep the M.E. people from asking questions relating to the problems in their own country and instead keep attention focused on the acts of the 'decadent west' and Israel.
