NorCal was the guy standing underneath the stadium seating trying to woo a freshman girl into letting him feel her tits. The only reasons she turned him down was because he probably had a chili dog stain on his FUBU polo shirt with the popped collar and she saw a picture of him riding a yak.

Damn, NorCal...I would've kept that school name a secret if I were you and had to wear pink and gold as your school colors.

Hey look, it's Union City's Most Wanted thug NorCal handling his bidness with the two full-time officers stationed at his high school.

The only thing Thug Yak can brag about is that Roy Williams is apparently an alumnus.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bad news bro, playing high school football is easy. I know it seems like you guys are real bad ass now, but wait until you look back on your games after playing a year or two of college ball, YOUR ENTIRE TEAM SUCKS. You play sloppy football with the most basic of offenses and defenses and you don't have to know anything other then what you are doing on each play.

So sit there and post on this chat board about how tough High School football is, some of us know better.

If he had just said his JV team was doing well and that he had kicked a few kicks, I wouldn't have said anything. I cover HS sports and as I said in another thread, I couldn't play football because of some injuries I had in middle school football.

Even with NorCal talking shit about me playing football, I wouldn't have said anything, but he had to make me take 20 minutes and start researching and I found what I found....and strangely, he's nowhere to be found now.

Not that you didn't know this already, but being able to play high school football gets you approximately nowhere in life. Just ask NorCal's father.

So don't worry too much about it, and I'm guessing you're not losing much sleep about it now anyway.

Actually, those injuries were what led me to the love of journalism that I have today.

When I was injured and decided it wasn't worth the risks, I decided I'd try sports journalism and it started from there.

Believe me, no sleep lost over those decisions.

I played two years of D1 college ball. Never saw the field in a regular game once, then decided I'd take advantage of being in college and have fun with my friends............also, no sleep lost over that one. God I miss school.

In Texas (you know, considering that's where the book was written and based on), people don't go nuts for JV football.

All I've been saying is had you just represented yourself normally ("Hey, my JV team's doing good, I'm a decent kicker for the team, we're hoping to make the playoffs and win district after some blowout wins..."), nobody would have said a thing but probably good luck, congrats, etc.

But, like when your Beezy-ass started out, well, you got to take the jokes as they come when you misrepresent.

Alright, serious question, Wiggerific.

Do kickers use tees in HS (either varsity, JV or freshmen)? I was talking with some reporters at the game I was at last night and we weren't sure if that's a rule or an option (especially when East Central had to call a timeout because they couldn't find the tee on the sideline).

Yes, clearly you can make an assumption about my past based on an internet post on a sports talk board.

Doesn't "homo ass faggots" seem a bit redundant to you?

Seriously Fillmoe, you come off as such an idiot. There is no way you over 16 years old and it clearly shows on every one of your posts. I mean, not that there's anything wrong with being 16, but let's not pretend you are a "grown-up" when you are obviously still sitting at the kiddie table.

Since you want to make assumptions about what kind of guy I was in High School, then I'll make an assumption about what kind of guy you currently are in high school.

Let me guess, you are the white guy that pretends he's black.

You haven't touched a women and yet you claim to have slept with dozens.

You don't have any friends other then the two guys that sit around with you at night and circle jerk to Girls Gone Wild DVD's while listening to Wu-Tang and acting as though you miss the good old days when rap music was "hard".

Then when your two friends leave you immediately put in your "Black Eyed Peas" cd and dance the night away in your room listening to the "London Bridge" song while video taping yourself so you can play it back and check how your "moves" are going.

Don't worry bro, when you turn 18 you can reveal to the world your kick ass "running man" at any Polyester's located throughout the continental United States.......oh, but only on Wednesday's, I hear that's 18 and up night.

Later douche bag.

I'm also still confused how a thread about a JV football team warrants inclusion in the NFL Forum.

I can understand how a JV'er who thinks playing high school football is "hard" would equate what he does to NFL football, but I'm still a bit skeptical.

Since we are talking High school ball, I finally went to a game in the City that I live in and watched the varsity team. I live in Seguin and this team was pretty bad ass, I was reading in the Express that they had 17 D1 recruits on the team this year. that is why I went to see them, and they were pretty phenomonal. Makes me want to get out and watch more of the incredible teams in this area of Texas. Judson, churchhill, Raegan, Mac Arthur there are just so many good teams.

I think Seguin is playing San Marcos tonight at Bobcat stadium, Blaze does San Marcos have a team? is this going to be a good game?

If youre going to attend any other games I would go to the Judson/Madison game this week. Madison is ranked like 13 in state so it should be a really good game as usual. Other than that another would be Smithson Valley vs. Madison when they should both be in the top 10 when they play eachother

Yeah, California is awesome. Dude, I'm not even from Texas and I know that the above quote is absolutely retarded. California is "rad" what with its smog, power shortage, crime rate, cost of living, earthquakes, fires, etc.

I know that since you're only 14 you don't care about many of these things but once you are able to sit at the grown up table, you'll want to move out of that terrible place.

I went out for drinks a couple of nights ago with a old college friend who coaches at Trinity in Euless. He was telling me that the next big shakeup in Texas HS football is superchurches like Lakewood in Houston, Fellowship in Dallas, and Shoreline in Austin sponsoring teams for their home-schooled high school age member kids and forming their own league.

Now THAT would be interesting. With the money those places rake in, can you imagine what an uber-church football team could look like without the UIL's restrictions?

Pretty similar. Don't know which one holds more weight, not that it matters. The team on top is all that matters. California does have good football programs, as does Texas.

Your list had something that stuck out to me. Check out the power #'s for De La Salle. They blow the number 2 team out of the water.

We used to play them when I was in high school once a year, along with Mater Dei and Helix. I never thought it was fair that De La Salle, a private school which was allowed to recruit, got to play public schools like my own. It was fucked up and they were stacked each and every year.

Care to guess where the #1 team came from the past 2 years? A team that I would say unfairly lost the #1 spot because they have still not lost a game in God knows how long, but either way do your research. Its the same 2 teams every year from California that make a run at the top spot: Mission Viejo and De La Salle, while Texas puts countless programs every year in the rankings--Lufkin, Southlake Carrol, Euless Trinity who is a newcomer, Spring Westfield, Smithson Valley, The Woodlands, Galena Park N.S, Judson, Katy, and Plano East. These rankings are very flawed simply because of the different levels of competition in all of the different states, and it is very difficult to say Team A is better than Team B, but I did say our JV teams could MOSTLY beat your varsity teams. There's a few good programs in nearly every state, but my point was that Texas football is far superior to California, on any given day I would put any of the top 20 from Texas against #1 from anywhere else.

In a preseason game against teams that USED to be contenders in Texas. Texas would send programs like Permian and Carter to play California teams, and then sometimes send the team that was defending their state championship, but lost almost every starter and wasnt even ranked.

jud you dont make sense at all

what Jud is saying is that Texas has not ever really sent their best teams. In fact it is often hard to tel who that is until the 4th or 5th week of the season due to the amount of talent in Texas. Every year a different team seems to emerge out of nowhere. There are always your regulars but new teams show up every year.

I travel to San Diego a lot and My boss and me have this discussion all the time. His son plays fotball and I have been to a few games. We came to the following conclusion after he came down and spent a weekend watching texas Footbal in San Antonio.

He(not me) concluded that if you eliminated The top 5 teams from each state and only looked at the #5-#25 teams from each state that Texas was much deeper and talented. He said that do to a lot of recruiting that the Top california teams do they have some really bad ass teams. After watching the games in California I would agree.

I guess the point he was making was that your average High School program in Texas was stronger than the average football program in California.

To give you an example: The seguin school I referenced earlier in the thread has just recently become a pretty good team. THey are what most people in Texas would consider an average to slightly above average football team. they have 17 division 1 recruits on their team, and they are average. This is the reason almost every team in Div 1 college ball has guys from Texas playing for them, there are just a lot of good players.

So not only is he the third-string kicker, he's not even important enough to have anybody take pictures of him. Well, except for that one of him riding a farm animal.

Come on, johnsmith. Haven't you been listening? Playing high school football is hard. I'm sure that becoming engrossed in film study of opposing JV teams is only one of the many requirements that a boss, multi-positional, sub-varsity player has to endure in order to succeed on the field.

For instance, there's the issue of getting that scout team jersey over your pads when you're already wearing them. And there's that whole quandary about being sure you aren't stuck with just water at the break, but get some gatorade as well. To say nothing of the issue of making your practice gear (and sometimes even your game gear) look like you've done something so the ladies don't wonder if you're on the team or not. Rubbing grass and dirt into your practice pants takes time and patience if you're going to make it look real.

This is a very important thread -- let's stay on topic and not ask ridiculous questions like that one, okay?

I wouldn't be talking that much smack if I were you. I read that you've been missing some extra points for the big boy team -- if you don't get that stuff corrected, you're going to end up missing Prison Break or at least end up watching NorCal do your job. I mean, you can't help the club if you're forcing that offense to go for 2 all the time.

During the first quarter, Logan quarterback Matt DiPietro threw a pass to Julian Monsalud which resulted into a touchdown for the Colts. Logan kicker . . . coming back from an injury, attempted to kick the extra point, but failed.

The Colts weren’t content with the score 6-0; during the second drive, Logan wide receiver Wesley Hicks scored another touchdown for the team. After the touchdown they successfully performing a two-point conversion, bumping up the score to 14-0 by the end of the first quarter.

As much as I would love to cover the JV games,Im afraid I can't. I would love to write about it, but I can't go to any of the away games. Another problem is that no one keeps that stats for JV. Maybe NorCal could keep a pad to record his observations about away games tucked into his uniform pants (or maybe under his burly shoulder pads) and then provide those to the Courier's sports editor. We probably wouldn't get very good descriptions of the kickoffs and extra points, but we'd all know what went down between those crucial plays. That way, we can all feel the color and the pagentry of Colts JV football, even when they're away from home.

I can already see his description of the games happenings...

"With the Colts trailing 28-0 in the fourth quarter and in danger of their 842nd shutout in school history, James Logan trotted out 4th string kicker and self-proclaimed "boss" David Davis to attempt a career long of 21 yards. With the wind blowing at almost 50mph and in his face, Davis booted the ball through the uprights and was carried off of the field by all 15 parents and teammates in attendance at the game...he was a hero on this day."

Man, ya'll need to come correct. We already know that NorCal has been kicking important extra points for his team and that his team wins a lot of games, despite the many hardships that are part of playing high school football. Why suggest that his role on the team is anything other than an important one and that his team isn't any good? (I'll bet that NorCal has already scored more points in high school than many of the posters around here ever did.)

Both of the assumptions, then, are completely wrong, to say nothing of the fact that you refuse to give him credit for just how hard it can be on a young man to play high school football. Please, just a little credit.

I mean, there's a reason this thread is in the NFL forum.

I find it hard to believe that Logan stands at 4-0 in district play without the services of phenom sophomore kicker David Davis. Try as I may not to point fingers, but this shocking failure falls squarely on the shoulders of our Coach Zuber. How can a coach of his stature possibly ignore the talented mister Davis in favor of a scrub like Roberto Amezquita? How many more kicks will Zuber let Amezquita miss? It's a real shame that the Colts are forced to rely on such lesser talents like Josh Neal and Matt DiPietro to carry the squad while David Davis languishes away on the junior varsity. One day, it might cost us the league title.

I think that Coach Zuber knows what he's doing, he's a very smart guy. Maybe he thinks that Davis is not yet ready... who knows...

There's going to be an investigation when a bunch of 20-somethings and 30-somethings cause a high school newspaper to remove the comments feature from its newspaper's website. What an investigation that's going to be, since 2 of the, ahem, "interested posters" actually linked back to this forum. The other happily gave an e-mail address with a screen name.

I can read the headline now:

SpursTalk Posters Outed for Picking on High School Sophomore and Hating on JV Football

It's also bad form, I think, to call high school kids "scrubs" and "lesser talents." Those kids work hard to play high school football, man. Don't blast them like that -- it's really, really hard.

"Jimmy L." and the rest who've been faceitiously pimping NorCal and seeking his promotion obviously just don't get the idea that a berry must ripen on the vine before it can be truly enjoyed. JV football, while a hard and strenuous activity, is the vine of high school athletics. NorCal is the berry, growing and growing (you've seen the pictures, haven't you?) so that someday soon, he'll be ready for the harder-still varsity level. Just like Roberto Amezquita surely had to.

High school football is far too difficult on student-athletes (have you seen NorCal's grammar, usage, and spelling around here? Obviously a byproduct of the rigors that high school football imposes on a student's life) and far too serious a business to be so lightly mocked as this.

Don't be haters.

Something tells me I'd be living in a box under the Golden Gate Bridge if I were stringing in SF.

That reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend of mine in The Star newsroom last year. I learned of a fellowship offer at the San Francisco Chronicle and was telling Christina I was going to apply. She asked what it paid and when I told her, she (since she had lived in SF before) told me to imagine what I was living in at the time, picture my living room and imagine paying three to four times that amount for that living room.

You guys are losing focus and turning selfish here, talking about economic impacts on your life and things like that.

Economics are unimportant to the singularly-focused life of the JV kicker and backup corner. Think about it: he has to remember both of the team's defensive coverages (in case he's called upon to play) while watching the game to make sure that he's ready to kick those important extra points and keeping straight what to do if his holder fumbles the snap under the pressure that comes with literally tens of pairs of eyes watching you.

That's hard work, you self-centered haters.

David said to The Trolls that he got promoted. This thread will not die until David misses a game-tying kick in the playoffs and has to transfer schools to hide the shame.

Wait, he told that to the Trolls, but didn't come here to share it with his most ardent supporters? What kind of crap is that?

Those playoff promotions can be the start of great things, by the way. When I was a senior in h.s., our coaching staff promoted several freshmen to the playoff roster, including ND Kalu who managed to roll up 3 sacks in one possession of his first playoff game.

Of course, another signed with Nebraska only to wash out and become a vicodin addict.

I'm fully expecting NorCal to take the fast track to the NFL; or become a debilitated narcotics fiend; or a wannabe black dude with no game. One of those.

Damned censorship at the James Logan Courier.

They've killed the comments section - and prior to that, they edited out the name of the Ponies' Patron Saint. I bet Dusty Garza runs the JLC.

Yeah, at least they had a good team all of my years there. They're also going to have another HS opening in SM next year, so even more area-football.

Actually, the new high school in San Marcos is just a new campus.

The old San Marcos High School Campus will become a middle school.
