You have to think that this kid is kicking himself over and over and regretting his decision to pass up UT and go to OU to "win championships". Good call there buddy. He has to regret that decision every single day. Probably one of the worst decisions any college blue chip recruit has ever made regarding choosing schools. Not only is he a traitor to his state but a loser as well...
Can you imagine this fucker in the same backfield with VY the last two seasons?? He has to see that in his nightmares...
So raise a glass to Adrian Peterson... he's a great running back but one stupid mother fucker. Amen. :lol

i just don't get why anyone would willingly live in oklahoma for 3-5 years. i think the stat they mentioned during the broadcast was 40 kids on the sooner roster were from texas. blows my mind.

Some of them (like Thompson) wanted to go to Texas but either couldn't get the scholarship offer or got an offer to play a different position. Peterson had his choice and chose wrong. Of course, at that time nobody outside of UT had ever heard of Vince Young. I'm being a bit sarcastic with this thread because Peterson couldn't have known that Mike Stoops was leaving and that the OU program was going downhill while UT was gonna get VY and Chizik and become dominant. VY and Peterson were in the same HS class - imagine that backfield if Peterson had chose UT. Would have been two straight NC in 2004 and 2005 more than likely.

If AP came to Texas, we'd be talking dynasty and he probably would have won the Heisman.

That would have been one of the sickest back fields in history. To bad it never happened :depressed

put down the crack pipe there buddy. the USC team in 2004 had an amazing defense and offense...nobody was beating them, i don't care who t.u. had.
i know you just beat OU and are feeling no pain, but lets get real.

I think UT would have won. That would have been an epic game - USC got to beat up on a shitty OU team that year that peaked mid season and got blown out by Kansas state of all teams in the Big 12 Championship game. UT was hot in the end, as evidenced by their Rose Bowl that year. VY and AP would have gone ape shit on that defense just like VY went ape shit all over that defense a year later. Would have been close, very close.

your nuts bro. SC's defense, that vyoung ran all over, was nothing close to the one in 2004. and don't forget that USC put up 574 yards on your D last year...what would they have done against t.u. in 2004.
...put the pipe down.

The 2004 USC D was a little better, but not as much as you seem to recall. VY and Peterson behind that O Line would have put up big numbers and points as well. The running game would have opened the passing game. Of course USC would have rolled up big numbers, but UT would have rolled up big numbers as well. Would have been classic and a very good game.

^ I think we would have beat usc in 2004 straight up with the team we had at the time. We were playing damn good at the end of that season, and everyone knows that when it comes down to it-usc can't handle the pressure, and they sure as hell can't handle VY. Hook'em...

I heard Peterson's decision was based mainy on how well the coaching staff and OU program preps players for the NFL. Not my opinion at all - just something I recall hearing last year.

If AP had gone to UT, Vince Young would be averaging like eight pass attempts per game as a senior and wouldn't be considered a pro talent.

AP would have had a 3000 yard season from all the options, and VY would have ran for 2000 each season

why the fuck does this JGW dude have to turn every fucking thread into a UT vs USC thread? The motherfucker's team wins three legitimate championships in a row and he's still a pantywaste whiner

:lmao You can't just keep feeding the running back all game every game. Teams will bring 9 in the box if they have to in order to stop the run. That would have opened up the secondary and VY would have blown up passing. All one on one coverage outside - any QB can shred that.

BeerIsGood said that t.u. would more than likely have won in 2004...that is when SC won, what do you expect...me to agree with that crazy statement?
