It's being reported on local radio that this deal is just about finalized. An announcement should come soon. If Kidd's knee is healthy, the Blazers will be an immediate contender.

If this deal goes down, look for NJ to scoop up Tony next year.

local radio sation?

Yes, KFXX in Portland. They also scooped the stories on the Blazers signing Van Exel and the contract extension of D-Miles so they are pretty liable. They are reporting that the deal is finalized and will be announced in the next few days.

Huge risk for the Blazers, Kidd isn't even close to being cleared by doctors.

That certainly shakes up things in the West. The Blazers will be very good once Kidd heals up. Good enough to get very deep in the playoffs...even WCF good.

This is true. Micro-fracture surgery isn't a sure-bet regardless of how close he is to returning as well. However, having Abdur-Rahim and Randolph clearly was not going to work. Both are post-up power forwards and using them both as starters isn't working well and was only being done to showcase Shareef. We need Darius Miles in the starting lineup with Zach. Getting Kidd is a risk, but if his knee recovers it could be HUGE for the Blazers.

Are other players involved i.e. Telfair?

Anyone think the Spurs will try to get in on the running? If they don't want to give Parker $66M this summer and they don't want to give him the max next summer, they might be thinking that Kidd is the next best plan.

Trading for Kidd it would be a huge mistake for the Spurs.

I have heard no other information. I hope Telfair is not part of the deal.

No way the Spurs go for Kidd. Imagine PG rotation of a guy coming off micro-fracture surgery and a guy backing him up coming off (fill in the blank) injury? :hat

Interesting development. If it happens, the Blazers will be back.

The only player to return to form after this surgery is Kerry Kittles -- and he took a whole year off. I understand that Abdur-Rahim/Randolph combo isn't working, but I don't know if it's worth the risk.

If we trade Parker for Kidd Pop better relocate to a new country. :makemyday

Yeah if the Spurs don't want to pay Parker they might as well deal him to NJ. Perhaps include Rose too.

That should make a lot of people here happy.

Hey gang, very interesting. I hope it goes down - I have Rahim and Miles on my FL team.

It won't be too good for the Lakers in the Pacific.....

Nah. I'm not worried. That surgery Kidd has is a mess. He may be pushing himself to look as good as possible now to get traded but he's not going to last the season.

Well, we'll see...do the Blazers given there penchant for incarsirated players want to gamble on Kidd who beat his wife...

Well...this trade would sure help me on my main fantasy team.

I have Zach Randolph..Kidd...and Abdur-Rahim.

Randolph and Abdur-Rahim always take away from each other.

Abdur-Rahim should put up some good numbers going back to the east.

And Kidd will have more talent to work with in Portland than in NJ right now.

The only thing it would effect is D. Stoudamire..who I also have..but would probably ended up throwing in with a trade or just dropping him for a FA anywas.

Go "The Brickhouse" Go.

But ducks, the Spurs could get rid of Rose.

that would help if he does not play
he is relatively ok if he plays like the 6 man he once was and get those minutes he still turns the ball over to much though.
ps he will not get any taller though

So let me get this straight. Allen is going to pay four point guards a total of about $44 million this season?

Tell me what else is going down -- this isn't making a ton of sense.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine him paying both Kidd and Stoudamire huge deals.

It'll make sense if Telfair is thrown in, but really only from the Nets' standpoint.

Damon Stoudamire Jason Kidd and Sebastian Telfair is the PG rotation. Guarantee mighty mouse the mighty peanut head wont like that.

Tell me again how a one legged Kidd makes the Blazers contenders?

maybe they sit him all year, realizing they cant win it all this year, and play telfair to get him seasoned, bench him next year, and play them both, maybe move kidd to the 2

So what happened with this deal? Did it go through? Kidd leaving NJ for good or not?
