Your California State taxes hard at work...
I'm not sure who to thank for that, I suppose Columbus. ;)

judging from the parking lot... about 40% of the students thought we had today off... o well, better parking for me.

I have the day off and getting paid for it! :)
Only banks get it off. And it isn't really significant if you aren't Italian.
My teacher said we traded Columbus Day to get MLK off, and we gave up a President's birthday to get a whole week off for Thanksgiving.

Your schools didn't get off for Columbus day, but workers do? It's like you guys do everything backwards in Cali...:lol

I had to work, but traffic was a breeze with no school. My company gives us the day after Thanksgiving off, plus the day after Christmas, so I can't complain about not having Columbus Day, I guess.

Oh heaven forbid we do anything as non-PC as celebrate Columbus Day.
So all the kids in Dallas get the day off as "State Fair Day." GMAFB.
